*silence for 2 minutes*

They: Is it 25%?
Are you making that up? It sounds suspiciously like a Monty Python skit.

I remember a test I took on electromagnetic fields where we had to use the "right hand rule" to determine what direction the vectors were going. Right at the end of the test I notice I used my left hand for the entire test. So I wrote on my test paper at the top what I did, and then made sure the professor new as I went by his office after class.

He thought it was the funniest thing and laughed for 10 minutes then called the other professors in the EE department into his office to laugh at me. In the end he didn't deduct a single point for it though.

I actually did that once in high school physics lol.

So in todays lesson we went over some accounting and I realized they have big leaks when it comes down to percentage calculation. The conversation was like this:

Me: OK, lets take an easy example. Just tell me what 25% of 100 is.
They: Oh, that is very difficult to say without a calculator.
Me: No, it is really simple math which you can do in your head.

Me: Yeah, that is right. But how much is a 1/4 of 100?
*another 2 minutes of silence*
They: Is it 25%?
Me: Sure it is 25%. So now we know 25% is the same as 1/4. But what is the answer of my question?
*at this point I was near to bang my head on the table*
They (after 5 minutes of thinking): We guess 25% of 100 is 4...

Coming from a guy who got a F in his A-level in math (but still passed it) I was just shocked how careless people can get a job training in a accounting company...
This post made me too mad to laugh. How ****ing stupid are these people? I would have honestly lost my **** on them.

These tests were my favourite in high school physics, because the entire class looks ridiculous while writing it and trying to right hand rule themselves towards the correct answer

You could say that you were using the "electrons flow from negative to postive, not that 'holes' flow from positive to negative B.S. so the left hand is correct"

1000x this. These are the people that make poker beatable (and funny).

Also...Im left handed so I always butcher the right hand rule. My physics teacher in highschool was much less generous then your prof though.

Probably worth learning the hard way though b/c I didnt do it again in calc in university.

I can't honestly say that I never did this.

lol@left hand rule. even though you can usually just figure out which plane it is supposed to be in by intuition/physics of the problem and then figure out the sign after the problem is done because you might screw it up 2 or 3 times but there are only 2 possibilities lol.

I definitely did this and did get points taken off. If anyone knows chirality from organic I did the same thing on that test too (counting counterclockwise instead of clockwise).

Haha, so funny. I have a degree in chemical engineering and bioengineering. At work, somebody asked me to "design" a linker that will be stable outside of a cell and degrade once internalized. Ummmm riiiigghhht.

Design steps:

1. Identify type of bond
2. Call my manufacturer tell them what I want to do.
3. They set their team of asian phd organic chemist on it (sick brag for them)
4. Provide solution to me
5. I provide solution to guy who asked

EZ game. That is basically how organic chemistry works from my point of view these days, but damn, sure was hard in college. Working is easy.

does anyone have any idea how to play nl 5 card draw/3 card nlth/pineapple/crazy pineapple?
03-27-2010 , 08:11 PM
I've only played 5CD FL, but crazy pineappe split is like my new favoritest game.
03-27-2010 , 08:39 PM
Any variation of pineapple is a good time.

About to go to the ballet for GFs birfday. I'm kind of excited. This weekend had been very rollercoastery, I was close to calling Equus for a place to crash for the rest of the weekend...but now everything is fine.

i'm playing with all kinds of legends lately: first i sat at a table with wickss in a 3$ donkament and right now i'm playing with 1c2c legend prokkets

LOL, first lovers quarrel huh? Glad everything worked out. Just keep in mind, if you have to crash here there is an ummmm "payment system."

vs. a 12/5 nit. My open is prob. a little loose given his stack size, but he's folding most of the time.

Probably should clarify: barreling the turn is pretty good, and is probably even better, as a bluff with my hand because it's a good scare card. My thoughts were that this guy would would peel the flop with some Adxd hands - I don't think he raises those hands often. Still, a big part of his flop calling range is PP up to QQ - his 3bet % is under 1%. After he checked back the turn, I figured his range was pretty weak, but that I wouldn't win a SD - that's debatable because I do have second pair, but I think he has an OP to the 8 a lot given his line, and I obv. can't c/c.
