Booksmart

One of the best coming of age raunchy comedies in a decade. Funny as hell. Super sweet. Progressive. A great time. I absolutely loved this movie. It’s why movies are so awesome.

Grade: A+

The only answer I can come up with is it is some kind of cultural FOMO where people go to them to be part of the cool kids crowd.

If there was even a 1% chance of me seeing something interesting, original or surprising in a movie like this I could get excited. But we all know there isn’t.
Have you ever listened to a song more than once? Same thing.

Dlk9s, you should put together a reel of your walk-ons. That would be funny.

Not deliberately, if it was a crappy song...

a tale of two sisters- disappointed in this. im not a big horror guy at all tbh so i shouldn't really be surprised but i was just confused the whole time maybe i'm dumb. korean horror from early 2000s that a lot of people seem to really like

the fountain really enjoyed this even though the special effects do not hold up very well. i know a lot of people thought it was a mess. for whatever reason i really love cloud atlas, mr nobody, and this a lot more than most people. i guess i'm a romantic and those epic weird scifi messes are my sweet spot idk but i thought it was really interesting effort from DA. i loved black swan and Pi but absolutely despised mother. still need to watch noah i guess

still trying to figure out a way to see ash is the purest white but can't find it streaming anywhere and doesn't appear to be in kc anytime soon or ever probably so i guess i just have to wait. loved his other movies. other foreign film ive been meaning to watch is loveless as i thought the leviathan and the return were fantastic (less so elena) but think i missed this one in theaters unfortunately.

borders is a swedish or norwegian or something movie streaming on hulu. i watched it in the theater with the gf and she loved it, i have no strong opinions on it but would recommend giving it a shot if you want to watch a complete genre bender and something weird as ****. would recommend not reading anything about it beforehand

shoplifter- another foreign film i was disappointed in given the great reviews. it was fine but not something i care to watch again or found particularly great. bit of a tearjerker korean (or japanese?can't remember) movie about a ragtag family

overlord- forgot about this, good fun and exactly what was expected but we both thought it could have been a great cult classic movie if they just changed a few things and put a little bit more effort into some of the "plot points" (lol)

lol. Some of the clips would almost be subliminal.

That might be a fun project, actually. There are a couple TV show appearances I'd have to track down somehow - shows that barely lasted and long gone from my DVR. At the end of the reel, I could include a list of everything I filmed, but ended up on the cutting room floor.

I could also include a section on times I can be spotted in "behind the scenes" clips (I can think of a couple).

I actually teared up a little when I saw it, as it was just so cool to have my kids sitting next to me, seeing Spider-Man talk to their dad. Plus, it's a fun scene, an homage to Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

Spoiler:
What an awesome shot! I'm 100% going to go watch the movie this just for this.

John Wick 3 - It's a good movie, but the fight scenes were too much at times. The first movie had the perfect balance of fighting and dialogue. The 2nd and 3rd movies don't have that balance. They have built this awesome world with great characters and I think this franchise is at its best when the characters are talking instead of going through a 5 minute fight scene. Now, John Wick riding a horse in NYC is one of the most awesome things you will ever see in a movie.

This is almost exactly my thoughts

Was good, but if you didn't get involved with the story in the first two and tone set, this wouldn't be very good.

Weakest of the 3 for sure.

dlk9s that's awesome! Thanks for showing us the pics. I remember looking out for you in homecoming, it added a lot of fun to the scene.

Looking forward to doing the same when I watch cobra kai too

I have a real soft spot for musician/band biopics. I pretty much love them all assuming I like the original music. This previews I have seen for this one doesn't look good to me but am sure I'll probably love it.

I just saw Kingsman: The Golden Circle, so I love the coincidence of Elton John being in the movie and then Eggsy playing Elton John in Rocketman.

If there's a post-credits scene in Rocketman where Elton (played by Eggsy) goes to cameo in K:GC and Real Elton cameos as Eggsy, I'm gonna lose my ****.

I think it's gonna be a long long time before I see Rocketman. I do like Elton John though, at least the 70s version. Like Aerosmith that way, and ZZ Top to a certain extent.

I don't have any desire to see a biopic on Elton john... or Freddie mercury, and I love both performers.

Godzilla was good fun....I enjoyed it. I especially enjoyed Ghidorah still having that rubbery-necked, fake look as he did back in the day.

I enjoyed this but at the same time is was also disappointing for the reasons you mention. Feel like the franchise jumped the shark, went over the top, and just got too silly to take seriously.

At the same time, the effects and fight choreography and stunt work are just astonishing. What's that rule about never working with animals? The attack dogs and the horse totally steal the show.

Loved it, very enjoyable movie! Kinda a drama and musical in one. Actors were superb! Definitely worth seeing on the big screen!
