Halios Bluering showed up on WUS today, I know that's a desirable and tough to find piece that's often suggested. Also, a bronze Helson diver.

I wasn't able to go through all 506 pages of this thread so I don't know if this has been mentioned. I have a huge watch fetish, with my collection at a modest 21. Most of my watches are in the $400 - $1500 range with my most expensive being worth almost $4k. I love Oversized unique watches and love vintage stuff. Found this website which has a great variety of unique watches. Has anybody ever checked out http://www.watchismo.com ? awesome site.

Ok, so the Steinhart Triton 30 ATM has arrived..... came with the rubberized leather and I bought the bracelet as well. Finish is great, detail is great, crown action is solid, bezel is solid... I am super anal so take this with a grain of salt but small issues; the way the lug screws were machined for whatever reason made it very difficult to thread getting the bracelet on.. had to swap them around a few times and finally use a different set and it's in. Took way too long! Also, again, I am crazy... the bezel triangle marker above the 12 is off a teeeeeny bit.. but basically I find this is standard all over the place.. although it does tend to bug me sometimes. Also the inner bezel 30 by the 6 seems somehow a little off-centered but I can't figure out if it is that or maybe the date window is off a tad... anyway, I am NEUROTIC, so don't sweat me...

Wrist shots (apologies iPhone so they are not super);

Also think they should supply you with two lug screwdrivers rather than one (sometimes it can twist when trying to tighten).

Overall, for the money, it's really an amazing watch.... don't harp on my neurotic detail... if you're considering it, I don't think you'd be disappointed.

Next incoming; the Debaufre Csar in PVD with white numerals

-trp

Looks great, wear it well! I look forward to the same review of the Debaufre; I've considered picking one of those up myself.

I recently purchased the Bulova but might be looking to part with. I'm also considering the Tribillion here are some shots. Also can't find a TAG Rose Gold Chrono Carrera searching the forums a number of watches come up other then then that particular one. Gentleman thoughts?

This. I think this latest rev is a huge improvement design-wise over the previous tritons.

yeah I agree the 30ATM looks good. I think the 100ATM is a looker as well though quite a bit less versatile.

If this was just a little bit smaller, I'd snap order it.

I also like the 30 ATM, especially on a debaufre bracelet, not a big fan of steinhart's 5-linker

So, I can pick this watch up for 2k.

What do you guys think? I'm like, in lust right now. SLR is an ugly car but I love this watch.

It's at a Tag Heuer store, and they have it listed at $1999 today, plus a free pair of $300 dollar sunglasses I don't really want. It seems like a super low price to begin with, does anyone think I can just ask to not pay tax, have them keep the sunglasses and have me out the door at $1900?

^^ not my cup of tea.. but as folks always say, gotta go with a watch that 'speaks' to you...

re the Steinhart 30 ATM... I managed to scratch the bezel this weekend... !%#^!%!^%$!^^!!! I love (the irony of course) how I buy a watch for relatively 'bang around' time and it scratches instantly and all my other watches I have countless hours of wrist time I have zero bezel scratches like this. SO annoying.

I know it's super difficult to tell from a poorly taken iPhone snap, but any experienced scratch handlers know if this is able to be brushed out?

ya, hate-dr-dre, what exactly are you looking for here? whether or not the watch is a good value with its movements and stuff and quality?

I can't speak to any of that (I know nothing) but stylistically I don't care for it - but I'm not sure why you'd care about what I think of it's looks.

I went into the tag store just to window-shop the new grand carrera or whatever 20k watch that they just released. I came upon that SLR priced at $2k, which is like 60% off retail.
I'm a watch layman; other than my oakley minute machine, I haven't spent nearly this much on a watch. From what I've read in this thread, high-end watches are generally negotiable in price, and I was seeing if anyone thought it was unreasonable to offer $1800 out the door, even though it's already priced ~$800 less than I can find it for anywhere online.

I like the watch a lot, and I'm basically sold on it, but I don't want to be the live one not playing the game correctly. They did offer a free pair of $300 dollar sunglasses that I won't wear, but I'd rather just pay $300 less, but I dk if that's reasonable with the watch being so low-priced already relative to retail.

So yeah, that's what I'm looking for as far as advice

it really can't hurt to say "hey guy, i'll give you $1800 right now in cold hard sexy cash, you keep the sunglasses, and we got a deal"

You gonna wear it on your left wrist? You might want to read this review first.

The button located in the right side of the watch can be easily and accidentaly pressed just by the natural movement of your hand and wrist.

there is also a panda version which for some reason is not on the site
Blown away at how much I prefer the black face to the white. Maybe its the hour markers or black face itself that seems to absorb some of the chaos that the white face suffers from. I wouldn't even consider the white face but would take the black in a beat. Longines is slowly winning me back.

If only they'd reverse the day/date colors.

I am a freak and a pretty weird dude, and there are all sorts of tiny little nitty things that drive me bananas and are total deal-breakers for me when it comes to watches, so I totally get where people are coming from when they complain about white date wheels on black-faced watches, but they don't really bother me at all. In fact, I kinda like it on that longines.

yes, it looks nice, but you got to see them both in person before you decide. pictures are often misleading.
