I unfortunately am waiting for mine and it has been over 4 weeks. The buzz around town re Steinhart is they have been extremely sluggish on turning around orders. I can also confirm that two emails to them asking for a status update have gone unanswered. I am pretty disappointed. I know when I finally get the product, I will be very happy but sad to say the going conversations around their poor product fulfillment and customer service is holding true. :-(

Funny how quick that goes, it's only been a year or so since I had a very quick 6-7 e-mail exchange with them prior to a swiftly carried out order of great quality.

This is my 4th purchase from them and every other has been stellar on all fronts. The last was months ago however, so not sure what is going on. I have now sent two inquiries on the status of my order and neither have been responded to.

On a separate (and kind of ironically related) note, thinking about picking up a Debaufre CSAR PVD - thoughts?

Started with a sales listing for an older version with green- boppin' around their website, I think I may like the white letters better. Has a PVD'd movement too, pretty cool.

How are steinhart and debaufre related? Clearly there's something going on there but lately they seem to have been diverging.

they used to be same company but split so now their designs are different but like 50% of their collection that was designed pre split are the same.

When I bought my Debaufre, they told me that basically they were the USA Steinhart, but they could not use Steinhart in the US due to a trademark issue.

I don't think that's exactly true... I think these two companies used to be affiliated and now they are not. I'm actually pretty surprised that's what they told you as I don't think they have any corporate relationship at all today.

My Steinhart has shipped. 5 weeks post ordering and zero responses to 2 inquiries.. but, I will shortly have an awesome watch for the money! Wrist shots of the Triton 30 ATM in the near future.... strap and bracelet.

When Jessica bought it, Debaufre was the USA distribution of Steinhart Germany but they couldn't call it Steinhart in the USA due to trademark issues with another unrelated company. But later, Debaufre split with Steinhart Germany thus you don't see a lot of Steinhart's newer designs (Triton) show up in the Debaufre catelog.

Said f it and ordered... impulse buy

Funny, the website's security certificate is expired.. their customer service seems like a couple folks manning a phone with little knowledge of the watches themselves - I put the order in over the phone. I guess small companies are like that... no where on their site to they state water resistance for this watch which is frustrating and per my conversation, they say 5 ATM - don't think that cuts it for swimming.

Wow, nice. Sick JLC selection there, and their prices are not ridiculous for B&M.

ahhh i was on newbury st. last friday and passed that store and actually commented to my gf that they should really have some sort of display or advertising what watch brands they actually carry. i had also never heard of there being a nice boutique/b&m type watch store in boston. will definitely have to check it out next time i'm there it looks really nice, thx for link.
