Very few B&R's do it for me, but I do love this:

I find their new WW1 inspired line pretty interesting

Those two B&R's look like wall clocks.

yeah, except they are wristwatches. I guess the simplicity of the look is exactly the reason why many find them esthetically appealing

B&R's formula: Base Valjoux movement, giant face = $4k!

The bezel screw (mis)alignment is simply horrendous.

Even casio gets this right. It's absolutely hilarious that they don't fix tihs.

At first I felt the same way, but now I'm not sure.

In a "fixed" orientation it doesn't look as "real" whereas this way, they're clearly functional screws.

I wonder if part of it is them not wanting to fix it because it would mean they made a mistake in the first place. I strongly feel this is why Rolex refuses to AR their watches.

Just made a quick PS of one my favorite Hublots, the gold ceramic

Post your thoughts please, I'm way too close to this to really see anything. I can't even look at the entire watch right now lol

-fixed bezel screws
-fixed wing tab screws
-changed DW color

Tried to fix the strap cover screws but oblongs be ****in with me

For some reason I do like Hublot and yeah the rose gold ceramic was the first one that I fell in love with.

I still think they are overpriced for what they offer but I've never had a real problem with their base aesthetics.

They are overpriced in the sense that the some of their parts is well under 10% of what they sell for.

But it's a really, really different look. People say AP is where it came from, and that's probably true but IMO Hublot does a much better job of it.

Also, when it comes to lined up screws, the ones in the AP aren't even screws, they're bolts.

Speaking of value and aesthetics

Panerai 318, which is one of the few manual wind Panerais with a closed caseback, uses a COMPLETELY unmodified, undecorated $150 movement.

Re Panerai, it's ridiculous they would cut costs like this on that already overpriced watch

As for the alignment of bezel screws, I personally see no problem with misaligned screws. if I had that Hublot (probably never will though), that wouldn't bug me at all. If anything, it shows that they are functional parts. It does look more "real" and doesn't take anything away from the overall look.

However, the black date window makes a difference. It looks better with black

And Hublot now offers black datewheels on, as far as I am aware, every single one of their blackfaced watches.

I still have some problems with Hublot.

The angle in which the strap comes out of the case is very flat which makes for a very oval watch profile. This results in the clasp really digging in to the bottom of your wrist. All they'd have to do is change the strap profile angle.

The Classic Fusion line has remedied this, and a Hublot on a bracelet, despite being incredibly heavy, is much more comfortable than the rubber.

Also, the bezel screw system kind of sucks. It's not too hard to strip them and it's an automatic servicing which can take a while. Sort of a bummer because Hublot has quite a few different bezels. Polished like in the picture I posted, brushed which is similar to the strap covers, bead blasted which is an extremely cool, dark/flat look.

Also, materials, you could put an 18k bezel on, one with diamonds, etc. Having that option available to customers is awesome but making it a somewhat risky "mod" detracts from that. A rep even came on a forum and said don't attempt it yourself, because he just stripped one doing a swap for a customer.

For a $10,000 entry fee, they could at least slap some cotes on those 7750 movements, which I believe are completely unmodified(?)

For a watch that costs a lot of money, has no real horologie behind it, and looks tough, these things should be god damn bulletproof in every single way.

The grips on the pushers fall out sometimes. They might've fixed that but it was an issue for a while.

This came in today (Xetum Tyndall)

It's actually smaller than my seiko monster, but it feels much larger due to the design. My wrists are tiny BTW, 6.5-6.75".
