Don't care to much about the whole "prestige" factor but also understand that prestige factor doesn't come from nowhere and watches probably get a good rep with watch people for a reason.
The rubber comes in a few different versions. My favorite is tire tread, that's what the TZ link has. There is also smooth that is just a matte piece of rubber. There is also linen which has fine lines running down it. For me tire tread >>>>>>>>>>>>> linen >>>>>>>>>>> smooth by huge margins.
There's also gummy croc which is rubber with a piece of croc inset in to the strap, feels like rubber, and frankly to me it looks like fake croc. They do come in lots of colors.
Also: Be aware of the sunken datewheel. Of all the things people complain about this doesn't catch enough flak. It's less noticeable when it's a black dw on a black dial but it's still there and still sucks.
Also, look at the watch from the side. Are the bezel h-screws flushmount? Sometimes they aren't, try and cherry pick one that has them flush, goes a long way.
The old models are the ones in the TZ link where they have numbers on the dial. The new Evos are what you linked, with just stick markers. Just preference.
The rubber is definitely great if it's comfortable enough for you. The bracelets are very thick and cool looking too, though.
Also be conscious of the weight. Some people love heavy watches and the full SS you posted wouldn't disappoint. The more ceramic on the watch, the less it will weigh.
