Weird to think that someday all the Expos will be dead. But that big psychedelic M (which as a kid I mistook for a lower-case elb) will live forever in our memories.

This got me looking around.

As of November, only 12 St. Louis Browns remain.

I lived in Montreal in the late sixties and early seventies and was a huge Expos fan. To me, as a young kid, Rusty Staub was the greatest player ever.

RIP, my baseball hero.

Yeah I know what the logo is but always saw it as an M. Was wondering if 'elb' was actually a thing.

I always thought it was elb when I was a kid.

According to Wikipedia:

Quote:
The Expos logo consists of the stylized letters "eb", which stands for "Expos Baseball". When taken as a whole, the logo forms a large "M", representing "Montreal".
Whoever created it probably thought they were really clever, but it's truly one of the worst logos ever.

I love the old Brewers logo that's an MB shaped like a baseball glove. My head exploded when I realized it was an M and B, I thought it was just a mitt!

They stopped using that logo before I started watching.

zomg, I never got that the glove was MB before! I remember that logo well. My beloved St. Louis Cardinals beat the Brewers Harvey Wallbangers team in 1982 ofc, the series where I first started idolizing the great Willie McGee.

I really liked Bochco's 80s shows, Hill Street and LA Law. They were head and shoulders above the other shows of the time and helped set the stage for our current golden age of tv.

The Rolling Stone obit, touches on the story of his casting in FMJ, one of my favorite Kubrick stories.

Ermey was a technical consultant. The way I heard it, he stepped in to play the DI during rehearsals while the part was being cast. Kubrick, genius that he was, knew his DI had been right under his nose the whole time.

RIP
