Norman Jewison, not Jewish.

And more importantly for this forum, he also directed The Cincinnati Kid.

He told a great story of being selected to direct Fiddler on the Roof. After they hired him they told him that they felt he could be trusted with the material because he was Jewish.

NJ: But I'm Polish Catholic!
Committee: That's OK. It's the same thing.

Melanie's Brand New Key is an extraordinary pop song, one of my all-time favorites. Takes me right back to Friday afternoons in Mrs. Agostini's 6th grade class, we got to play 45s. Those were small black discs btw; you'd put one on a turntable and drop a needle onto it, imagine that.

I thought so also, but she said in an interview that she really didn't mean it that way.

A lighthearted and free spirited song that I have always loved. An anthem to the good life.

R.I.P. Ingenuity, the most compelling pop star of the Millennium, and perhaps the only sign that there may be hope for Mankind.

This version was a big hit in the UK, especially among kids, and bypassed the original by some margin.
