I was really excited when I was going to see this movie. Claudia Cardinale, Charles Bronson with his harmonica, what could go wrong?

Claudia Cardinale had great tits; Charles Bronson; not so much. I enjoyed the gunfights.

You hate the James Woods throwing himself in a trash-crusher? (Well, maybe...)

It's a beautiful looking movie, naturally, but it's so preposterous. And the main character rapes the supposed love of his life. And yes, the garbage truck is ludicrous.

He was terrific in the most recent Shaft movie (2019), and it's a very good, underseen movie. Check it out to see Richard R showing the kids how to be a badass.

Yeah, this one is a shocker. Too damn young. I think he has a lot of drug problems though so that probably was part of it. RIP

Yeah… I’m guessing there will be an addition to the beginning or end of the “…drowning…” thing.

Wow...he was found unresponsive in his hot tub...so, yeah. RIP. I really liked him in The Whole Nine Yards movies.

Not all that surprising if you know he battled drug addiction and alcoholism for 30 years and had a major health scare last year. Still sad though.

Frank Howard, baseball slugger, dead at age 87, his home runs were monumental, the only person I ever saw come close was Dave Parker and he only came close.

87? To me, he is still ~30. What a player!

Frank Howard was like a cross between John Wayne and Paul Bunyan, a giant of a man. And yet his glasses made him look a little nerdy. He really stood out.

RIP Frank Howard

The guy was just huge in an era when pro athletes were more like normal people. White Sox announcer Hawk Harrelson used to tell stories about him all the time. I guess they were roomates while in the minors together. Those stories were great often about the massive amounts of food he ate. He could demolish baseballs.

Hondo was a modern day gladiator
a giant of a man who struck fear in the heart of his opponents as soon as he entered the diamond
sixty years ago he was the size of aaron judge playing against mere mortals
he once hit ten home runs in twenty at bats, the stuff of baseball mythology

I was confused until reading a bit, had him mixed up in my mind with Frank Thomas and was wondering why this wasnt a bigger story.

RIP Bobby Knight

He was an interesting guy and a great coach. Coaches these days just don't throw chairs anymore.

What Dom wrote. Still remember that my college team was playing at Tulsa, having our game-day shootaround, when the chair-throwing incident occurred. Don't remember how we found out in those pre-internet days, but can still recall the coaches discussing that with shock.
