Enjoy the past, but don't live in it.

Texans have their verbal ticks as well. People in Austin say "sorry" all the ****ing time, for any ****ing reason, and never when it's warranted.

You go some place, the cashier does their thing, hands back your card (or change) and says "sorry."

Why are they saying sorry, you ask? There's no reason at all. If you ask, they give you a sheepish look, then say sorry.

Why did they sorry this time? Because they said sorry?

Someone walks past you, and it's not "good day" and you definitely don't say "howdy." It's "sorry." Sorry for what? No, just don't do it. It'll take 1/2 to walk one block if you ask everyone and it's 110 degrees outside.

I'm with you, Nut. I wish I were drinking before noon, but I have no one to drink with. I may last the winter, but I'm not going to like it.

Hi , I’m going to start drinking soon but it will be some time after noon.

I bet if you brought a flask your seatmate wouldn't mind a nip.

My seatmate would. Son-in-law has to suffer through this twice.

That's my son-in-law. He's a police lieutenant.

Now that's a great smile, John. Heartwarming to see.

We are all somewhat psycho. Alfred nailed that one.

I may be wrong, but it looks like JC is rocking the Carhartt. This may be the hippest thread in the pokerverse.
