[My Bold]

John is not a tyrant; he is a benevolent dictator/emperor. It is possible he has read Suetonius.

And you are behind the times, Ray. The earth is flat. The sphere hypothesis for Earth has been disproved. The sphere rotating on a axis (and tilted by the way) is just magical wishful thinking propagated by a conspiracy of 1% smarty pants Scientists. I know, I'm part of the 1% conspiracy.

Just don't mistake the darkest evening for the shortest day is all.

Was Bobby Frost speaking literally or metaphorically?

John Cole, I think it's time to open up the summer threat; it's high summer in Montana right now.

Dave,

I resolve to open my heart, my cold, cold heart, to all sorts of suggestions.

After only three beers, I feel invincible and like a God. When younger it took ten beers. This is one advantage of growing old.

you wont be when you find all the north coast fishermen are descending on on the elk and sixes because its all closed north of you.

and you wont be if you look at your picture on your drivers license.

and you wont be if you look out your window and see all the things you didnt get done before the rains have come.

So, I talked myself into going to Lake Tahoe for a week. I don't ski, but I suppose I can find someplace to play poker and drink.

Excellent. I'm my usual depressed self. Not lachrymose, though.

Have a happy time in Tahoe, the lake is always beautiful. Poker and drinking advice you can get from Ray since that's all he does in Montana all winter. Which is why he was yanking on your chain to start the winter thread.

I'm on my way to visit friends in Seattle tomorrow for a spell. Lots of eating and drinking.
