That is a horrible way to button a varsity jacket.

Varsity jackets seem like kind of a fad right now and they certainly seem like something you could outgrow. Having said that, the TOJ ones are incredible.

I strongly dislike the look of varsity jackets.

I really want to take advantage of the Charles Tyrwhitt sale, but I have no idea if they'll fit me correctly and I don't want to have to ship everything back. Damn it.

It's 80% virgin wool with premium calfskin sleeves. I take my wool virgin, like my women.

I'm 5'11", 185.

18.5 front shoulders
20.5 back shoulders
25 sleeve length
6 wrist
42 chest
34.5 belly
33 waist
14 bicep

Most shirts are either too billowy in the waist, or too tight in the shoulder/arms. The slim fit is fine up top, but too loose in the waist and trunk. The extra slim is perfect in waist, but just barely too tight in the shoulders. So if you prefer slim fit shirts, the extra-slim is probably just right. If you're a bit bigger, but not quite "Average American" fat, the slim is probably ok.

Unis has 25% off for its anniversary sale today only. Think I'm going to get that maroon varsity jacket, which is now down to $321.

I saw on some blog that tailored sweatpants are A Thing now, so you might as well go all the way IMO.

There is a size chart on the webpage.

Definitely Euro-trash wear but I don't care since I have never left my apartment in them. Literally just thrown them on when taking off suit after work and bum around in them.

It's okay though cos they've called them 'THE UN-SWEATPANT'.

just ordered a few of these. 1 for myself + 1 for brother + 1 for dad for xmas gifts. I'm a bit worried about the length of them. I ordered medium (i'm 6'2). fingers crossed they're not too short (bro/dad are 6'0 so they're ok)

i'll let you know once i receive if you're waiting to pull the trigger on them

Everlane gets their cashmere from Mongolia, right?

That's what the site says. It also says "grade A" but I don't know if that's a thing they've just invented or not, I've never seen it mentioned on other higher end brands cashmere goods.

Those hoodies really need a zip though.

hey all, quick question. I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to fashion , not necessarily terrible at it, but admittedly pretty lazy.

I'm looking for winter(ish) shoes or boots whatever to go with a reasonably casual look. in the winter I'll usually be wearing charcoal/stone colored chinos + a sweater like this if its not too cold: http://factory.jcrew.com/mens-clothi...olor_name=navy

currently Im just wearing Sperry topsiders which are obviously a summer shoe. so I need to get something for the winter. I live in Chicago, so it rains and snows. feel free to quote things across a wide price range, though since my eye for fashion is pretty bad anything too expensive will likely be outclassing the rest of my wardrobe. thanks

also, I guess I need a jacket. (currently just have a std northface zip up). Happy to take suggestions on that too

Description says they're a lot like the Daltons but more "rugged". Noob question that's probably been answered ad nauseum in this thread, but what are the considerations for daily wear in a city like Boston where there's salt and slush and rain and snow and such for a good part of the year? I'm considering a nice purchase (accounting firm so dress code is in effect) but just wanna make sure if I go grab Daltons they're not gonna get wrecked.

I think the sole on the long branches looks really bad

The LB sole looks 100x better in person. It's a vibram sole, it's a ton better for winter wear in salt or puddles or whatever, the daltons have a standard leather sole and I would not wear them out in any sort of inclement weather at all.

Your other option would be to get some lol galoshes
