personally I haven't, but I've had several friends live there for long stretches since I've moved back, so I've spent a lot of time there. What all are you looking for?

trying to stay $900 or under, which is not a great budget I know but I'm hoping to find a decent 1bed. I'm not that familiar with the bar and restuarant scene up there, but I've been to maifest a few times and love it.

it might take a bit of digging to keep it under $900 for a 1br. But, it's definitely doable

the dining scene, I think, is where north center/ravenswood/lincoln sq excels. I'm a big fan of bistro campagne and LM. LM just opened up troquet on montrose. It's kinda a bar and kinda a restaurant, but very cool on the whole. French bistro fare like you'd expect from LM. I can't ignore browntrout on lincoln either. I'm a big big fan of there and thursday nights is completely $0 corkage with free corkage on any wine 10 years and old. Chalkboard is also a quality place too on lincoln. Obv there's goosefoot, but that's a 3 month ahead of time reso.

Tons of killer thai places in those areas as well. Opart's, sticky rice, and royal thai immediately come to mind.

As far as bars, lots of options as well. I'm a big fan of the globe for sports (soccer mostly) and you also have fountainhead and bad apple as great beer bars. Lots of other quality bars too like grafton, gannon's, and glunz bavarian haus. I haven't been to the atlantic bar and grill on lincoln by foster yet, but I've also heard really good things too

Went to Tank Sushi last week. Slightly overpriced, but very high quality stuff. They offer Groupons on a regular basis, so def worth it if you can get in on the Groupon.

The Bad Apple is awesome.
burgers + cheese curds + great beer list

unfortunately, someone got my cc# the last time i was there.
(i'm 99.98% sure it happened there--i had been out of the country and the bad apple is the ONLY place the card was used since returning--and they charged two rides from uber technologies, in chicago)

I have to say half acre-->bad apple is one of my favorite twofers. Get my growler filled (or buy a bomber) at half acre and then enjoy some brews at bad apple

Speaking of restaurants, the Tapas place on Cornelia is a real gem. Tapas 750 is the name I believe.

Also -- insane that the heat has made some streets in Chicago buckle. Here's a pic of Columbus Dr:

Anybody want to go somewhere to watch the UFC fight tomorrow night? None of my friends are really into it and don't feel like ponying up $60 to watch it at home.

Any recommended bars to watch fights?

Durkin's was my go-to ($25 all you can drink, all you can eat Dominoe's pizza, and the PPV) but they stopped showing fights.

Now it's a crapshoot. Kendall's is a $10 cover but fairly cheap food/drink. Players Club is free but you gotta there way early to get a seat because everything is "reserved" not to mention the food/drink is expensive. Sports Corner supposedly shows the fights for free but Bud Light bottles are like $7. There's a Mexican joint in Wrigleyville that shows them for free but who knows how good the view of the TVs are.

sadly I won't be there because of a friend being in town, but tap room on western is an awesome place for watching a fight. No cover, which is the best part

I checked this place out last night, and have to say, I thought it was really sub-par. I thought the cocktails were good, but most of the food was honestly just not doing it for me. I did like the goat cheese martini plate though, check that out if you go

Fireplace Inn always shows Boxing PPVs for free, not sure about MMA though.

Moving out of apt at the end of the month. Anybody have movers they can recommend? Otherwise just going to use yelp reviews.

Add: After looking at their website, they will be showing Silva/Sonnen.

Going to Tap Room with a few friends for the fight.

Johnny, if you're there I'll be the tall dude in the Michigan hat.
