Dude, it's the winter!

J/k, kind of.

I'm heading to Steppenwolf tomorrow, pretty excited, have heard good things.

(also going to Yusho afterwards.)

I've had seasons to Steppenwolf for a while now, and I love it. While not every play is awesome, on average it's very good, and forces you to get out to the theater. I used to have Shakespeare seasons, but they started having less Shakespeare per season, and doing less Shakespeare I like, so I switched. Also relatively recently saw Red at the Goodman.

I've been pretty lame for a while though, as my fiancee is in school. I'm sure others are in sports leagues, do trivia nights, go to museums (you can check museum passes out of the library), go to the monthly party at the MCA, and just generally do more cool stuff.

State Bar has a phenomenal trivia night on Tuesdays but you gotta get there by 6:45 if you want a table for your group. Starts at 8. Ends at 10. Free to play. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd pays $800, $200 and $100 respectively. Your group must have between 2-8 players and you better be damn good if you want to win cash (usually you need to get at least 47/52 questions correct or more). If you don't care about the money they have a ton of solid raffle prizes each week. I think there's also cheap ($5??) burger deal on Tuesdays too.

Moving from Philadelphia to Chicago in 2 weeks, have a job starting March 5th in the West Loop.

Figured I'd take a shot here. Anybody know of anybody who has an open room in their house/apartment? Mostly searching Craigslist at the moment. Looking for something in Lincoln Park/Lakeview/Wrigleyville area.

If you're not from Chicago, do yourself a favor and find a good polish bakery and eat some paczki ("Poonch-key") today. If you are from Chicago, I assume you already are eating some right now. It's not only Mardi Gras here, it's also Paczki Day!

I actually live on that block... There aren't really any. Fellini in the radisson is chill and has good pizza, but you pretty much have to leave the loop if you want to interact with anyone. Plenty of good bars in river north, wicker park, Lincoln park, depends what you're looking for. No clue about the united center.

MoSt bars run trivia so it shouldn't be too hard to find a place that has some. Most seem to run it on Tuesday nights

I'm pretty certain that haymarket runs shuttles to the UC

You'll get in and you'll be eligible for a booth but that's cutting it close timewise if you want to guarantee yourself a booth

If you are a fan of NPR, Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me, is taped at Chase Auditorium right downtown. I went a couple of weeks ago and had a great time.

The last Friday of every month is Critical Mass. It's the annoying mob of cyclists that messes up traffic once a month. If you like cycling though, it's a lot of fun being a part of that mob.

QFT. Everyone should be visiting Polish Bakeries year round. They have the best pastries and breads.

Found a place on Ashland and Roscoe, moving in on Friday. Hopefully it's far enough from Wrigley to not have to deal with Cubs parking issues.

You'll still have parking issues, but that's just how lakeview is in general
