me and some friends are looking to get a 4 or 5 bedroom place in Lincoln Park. Does anyone have any suggested methods (or websites) that they can recommend?

Portillo's rules. Wish I lived closer to one. Love their beef + hotdogs. Shakes are pretty great as well.

Craigslist, domu.com, Apartment People/Finders are ok places to start...

There are also plenty of free brokers you can find who will charge the landlords, though I've never resorted to this. I'm sure others can recommend some good people for that.

Went to Purple Pig tonight. Was good, but I think Girl and the Goat is better by multiple degrees.

I think it's mostly a personal preference thing. Purple Pig is more oriented towards Mediterranean and Grecian flavors. I don't really like cucumbers or olives, which are a big part of a lot of their dishes. It just seemed like G&G had more depth to their dishes, while PP was fresh and clean, but ultimately light and didn't have a ton of flavors that I preferred.

Have parents in town, looking for a solid brunch place in North Chicago for tomorrow. Will scour thread in the morning, just wondering if anybody has anything offhand right now.

Walker Brother's pancake house in Lincolnshire. Go for the bacon and fresh squeezed orange juice. If you have a little time, try the baked apple pancake.

Longman Fried Chicken and Waffles gets the thumbs up from me. Crab Benedict also was delicious when I had a bite.

Not any locations as good as the Wilmette one for Chicago access, but Egg Harbor is also v good for breakfast/brunch. I think I actually like it slightly more for cleanliness/eggs/potatoes, but find that their pancakes are a little weaker. Also not sure if they do some of the WB specialties like german and apple things.

just tried Pequod's. large pan pizza with sausage, onions, green peppers. Came out to be like $27. Kinda pricey but worth it. Best pan pizza I've had.

Definitely check out Craigslist. There are tons of listings there. I've gotten both of my places I've lived thru Craigslist w/o problems.

I'm in RE so can speak from experience

You might be looking at renting a SFH but if you're going with 4beds you should be able to find 1 floor in a 3 or 4 flat. Craigslist is always the best place to start. If you don't have any luck there, you can always try using a locator but know that you'll be paying their commission in the form of built-in increased rent.

Man I suck. Didn't click to hold a table for 10 minutes while getting in touch with my family to see if they'd like to go. Then when I got the OK, they were obviously sold out for (that day and) everything else. Oh well, will have to think of someplace else to send them at some point.

Just go to DMK Burger Bar if you want burgers. It's very close to the Vic, cheap, good and much quicker than a Saturday evening at Kuma's.

Another option is Tango Sur (put your name in way early though or don't bother).

I would just find a place where you can sit outside though. We're having some bomb ass weather today.

Thanks guys, ended up just going to Kuma's. We walked in at about 6:45 and were seated within 15 mins. The key is party of 2 I guess! I will def look into DMk and Tango Sur next time though.
