Little precision: all these individual sports have team competitions. If he had been successful at the olympics in a team event I'd have added the information in my answers

Ok I feel like next two questions =

Andreas Stahle
Marco Kutscher

I think there is about 2% chance of this strategy working.

Will hold off to see if anybody has a better idea

Are there any jockeys who have competed in equestrian events at the olympics?

I know next to nothing about equestrian, but I can't imagine the same people cross over between horse racing and equestrian.

I would suggest asking if it is equestrian next. We could try narrowing down which olympics or country also.

I definitely wouldn't have thought so either but I just thought I'd throw it out there because, of the sports remaining, it seems weird to pick someone who hasn't even got a gold medal from a sport where the Olympics is probably the only thing where they would be known from. But anyway, I looked up the equestrian events and nobody of note really fits.

So that leaves...canoeing and archery? Weird.

Doesn't #19877 rule out archery?

EDIT. unless successful in individual event but unsuccessful in team event I guess.

Looking up random canoe people. Not seeing too many people that make sense, but it has to be somebody.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gy%C3%B6rgy_Zala (two bronzes)

Maybe that guy?

Does canoeing include kayaking?

Yeah, I'm sure we have enough info to get this now. Just seems like this guy has to be somebody completely random though.

X-posted with eb.

Yeah, could be him I guess, but why?

He's not completely random imo
And from the list kayaking is included in canoeing

No idea, but I'd say that for anybody possible.

Maybe Tithayer is related to one of these people.

This guy won a boatload (sorry) of World Championships, but never did better than silver at the Olympics.

He seems much more likely than the other guy. He does have quite a lot of team medals though, if that matters...but none in the Olympics.

For this hint I counted only the olympics

I think that's our #1 guess if it's a canoeist.

No one in archery really makes any sense at all. Only Europeans seem to be one-off non-gold medal winners.

Do we just ask if it's Sliwinski or Zala?

Agreed.

Just hero Sliwinski imo. I can't really imagine it not being him.
