OP: If Alex thinks you stole his $30K, I would never pay him back. NEVER!

At this point, Alex knows I didn't take the money. He saw the state of desperation I was in when I was on the phone with my parents. He saw the look in my eyes when my parents told me that I wasn't welcome at home. He even got several people to follow me throughout the city (at which point, I was searched), and obviously since I didn't do it, they came up with nothing.

I cant stress the power of honesty enough. Its why I was in the situation in the first place. Ive learned a life long lesson here even if it cost me 30k and I had to learn the hard way. I really need to make positive steps forward from here on out and I thought that coming clean with the entire story would at least be a start...

So you got a backer, lost money for him, stole money from him while drunk, left the country, lost more money for him, stole MORE money from him while sober, then left his house wide open.

So...you are just a bad poker playing thief? Right?

I'm starting to put the pieces together, this post is a just a level I'll give you the following reasons

1. the above reference to younghov in the blog

2. OP's name is ImThaGrandmaster, a while ago some idiot with a name PokerGrandmaster created a bunch of threads which were just blatant lies/attempts to level, I'm pretty sure its the exact same guy

3. He said that Alex had people follow him through the city??? lol, he's just making this up more and more as he goes along.

4. there is absolutely no way in hell anyone who is good at poker would ever be dumb enough to place themselves in a foreign country without a bank card and enough money to get food. yes it could happen, but someone who lost $4.8k the night before he left surely could have brought $500 dollars in cash in case he needs to pay for food in an emergency.

5. some guy with 8 posts says that he can verify that the op's story is true, i'm 100% sure this is just another acccount of the OP in an effort to make it look real

6. the real question is why anyone would bother writing such an involved fabrication is what baffles me, but I know some people are sick in the head.

If you leaving the apt open was the reason the 30K was stolen you have at the very least a partial responsibility to help Alex recover.

This is all pretty low character stuff. Grow up, get away from poker, and pay back what you owe even if it takes you 10 years.

I think there is too many judgmental people on this site. Everyone makes mistakes. We are human, that is how we learn. Sometimes we have to hit rock bottom before we can really appreciate life and the people in it. I bet none of you having a go would have the balls to make this post if you had been in the same situation. He knows he ****ed up and he's willing to fix it. I think that's huge to be honest.

@ OP
Wow you really ****ed up huh. Good luck in finding a job and paying back the money to Alex. I hope everything works out for you.
Keep postin' and let us know how you get on
PS: Don't quit poker!! You'll never forgive yourself. Once you've got the bug you got it for life son

Ash.

This story has more gaping holes than a porn star.

So Alex had no actual proof that $30K, oh wait, 30,000 Euros were stolen, but wait, you forgot to mention that he gave you $10K, oh wait, 10,000 Euros to carry on the plane, so you assume he and his wife also were carrying the same amount. Then you left the door unlocked, came back, realized that the 300 Euros were gone but the place wasn't really disturbed and nothing else looked like it was missing, so the thieves magically found a stack of 30,000 Euros somewhere and stole that, nothing else and didn't disturb anything in the apartment.

This all after a guy watched you play once live, watched you play "a couple of sessions" online, agreed to stake you, watched you suck, agreed to bring you to Europe anyway, watched you suck even more there, accused you of stealing his "30,000 Euros," had you followed and then left you to die, but said he would consider staking you again in the future after you repaid him, even though he said he would have respected you more had you stolen the money.

Oh wait, and he suddenly was at the consulate with you when you were in tears calling your parents?

Come on, dude. You're pathetic.
