I did catch it a minute after I responded, I just posted hastily. nh, quite funny. The thing that threw me was your low post just like all of the OP supporters, but I was literally laughing at the wording when I thought you were one of his friends/his other accounts.

if this is true it's obv to me that more went on during the drunken -30k time. He would not feel obligated to pay back 30k if it was strait up stolen, why should he? He must have had something more to do with its disappearance.

Also, I know a total of like 3 people in France so itd be cool to meet some of u guys while im out there
Why do you say you were renting the house and that you know 3 people in France? If you are including Alex and his wife, who is this third person and why no mention of trying to get help from them?

A few days after you got locked out the apartment, you decided it was no big deal to just go for lunch with no key? Also, where is the housemate Jay in this whole tale?

fwiw, it seems you have enough knowledge of things that maybe you really were in France. Anything beyond that, I dunno. Such a crazy story and so many contradictions.... Either way, thanks for the entertainment when my tables were slow. I won't be doing any more detective work, as I feel I've wasted enough time already. I don't care if this is true or not, just reading this thread should be entertaining enough for about 2 more days or so. If it is true, I really don't know what advice you are looking for from bbv.

Amazing how out of the 200 people that have posted here also saying it's a scam by the OP to get money...I get singled out by handful of the OP's friends since I poke the holes in this trainwreck attempt at a way for the OP to recoup his 30K in losses

YES OP ... I CHOOSE TO BELIEVE THAT YOU ARE THE ONLY UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN STUDENT WHO DOES NOT HAVE AN ATM/CREDIT/DEBIT CARD ... OR AT LEAST TRAVELS INTERNATIONALLY WITHOUT ONE.

AND OH YEAH, I AM PREPARED FOR YOUR (or one of your shills) "GOTCHA" RESPONSE BY NOTING THAT IN YOUR FIRST POST YOU GOT ROLLED ONLINE BY YOUR GOOD FRIEND "TRANSFERRING" YOU 1k (a nice detail to add, evening naming your "good friend", despite the details of the transfer being so irrelevent as to the hell you have been through the past two weeks).

Will someone please CALL the Consulate Office in Nice, France and make a FOIA request about "Kyle."

Hey JBS1273, I think you have done well in pointing out a couple problems. The thing is if I'm not mistaken the OP hasn't asked for money, and if he did he's stupider than if the story is really true. Honestly, no offense to you or anything you have done thus far, I even made a couple posts about inconsistencies in the story myself. However, going forward why continue to play detective to disprove what everyone can see is a flaky story? If I'm not mistaken and he has asked for money, anyone who would give any really deserves their fate.

FWIW I initiated contact with this kid. I don't think he has asked for money in this thread. He clearly needs help. He told me he is willing to send me a receipt as well; I'm not sure if that means anything. So is this tax deductible?

Meh. If somebody wants to come in, they're coming in. Only in very recent history has the technology locks and security systems done anything other than offer the illusion of security. (barring the exceptions to the rule like moats or wiretraps that shoot arrows when you open, etc chow meow)

A better question is whether there is anything in the whole story that wasn't odd? Good questions about OP's whereabouts too, since he's been in contact via pm with Scar.

hes probably frantically trying to figure out where hes going to live and how hes going to eat

you guys keep saying there are so many holes, the only hole is that he was homeless for 4 days, not 5, doesnt surprise me that he would exaggerate this by a day, thats human nature for these type of situations, if anything it is more proof that it is real.

there are no inconsistencies the story is true.

NLL, I really respect you based on your work looking into the Ongame stuff, but I kinda think your radar or perspective on the situation is off. What about my post one or 2 pages ago about temporary housemate not mentioned in a dispute when that should be really relevant to the story? Also, the fact that he says he was locked out of his place a few days earlier when his hosts were still in town, yet he decided it was no big deal to just go for lunch without a key? Also, he's moneyless in France but staying in a hotel when he gets back to NY. I could go on and on, but I don't really see a point. Even if we end up with a story with no holes or inconsistencies in it, that doesn't even mean it's true. If this crazy story is true, what can we really do about it? Do you think money sent to save him would be a good cause? Or does he just need advice like not to post his whereabouts on bbv when someone who knows about the forum is threatening to kill him?

i think he was just looking for advice. no one should send him money, wouldnt you rather give money to charity or someone that had medical bills?

all of the questions you asked arent inconsistencies, they are just unanswered questions. if he took the time to give every single detail it would take hours to read.

i think i gave him pretty good advice, pay the guy back (~5-8k) and then at that time ask him to forgive the rest of the money based on the facts posted by myself and others in this thread.

who knows, maybe it some elaborate joke, that would be very weird but you never know with people these days. either way it was an interesting read and interesting to speculate. with that said im still 99% sure its real.

OP, go live in hiding in a homeless shelter. For your own safety, try to stay scarce in the light of day. If the meals there are insufficient there, find the closest bakery for dumpster baguettes at night. Also, play penny stakes vs the hardworking bums who panhandle all day to build your roll until you can pay Alex back. GL

I totally agree with you that it was interesting to read and speculate. I also know your intentions were good and I think you gave good advice if this story were true. Maybe all the confusing parts of the story have an explanation, but he has flat out contradicted himself at times. Crazy things do happen and maybe it's all true and his alcohol problems give him troubles expressing himself well. However, I think there's a 99% chance the story is possible and 1% chance it's true. When you read the story I just really don't know what gives you the vibe that it's true. Anyway...
