Figured out the power supply is 300 watts, so probably will need to upgrade that as well and would appreciate any suggestions.

I seriously doubt you would need a PSU upgrade for something with low power requirements like a 4650, which is more than edequate for your needs.

[blog]

just setup my desktop at home after taking my super powerful i7 system into work. now using my old 940be at 3.5g / 2.5g NB, and man, this is actually really really fast ! won't be using this much for super cpu intensive stuff so it's pretty much just as fast as the other system. very happy about this

oh yeah and i have it setup on my desktop under a towel without a case. i like this setup. it's very nice imo. oh yeah i discovered as well if you are going caseless that to turn on the system you just need to bridge the jumper for the power switch with something metal that will connect the two pins!

Thanks for the reply. I was going by what it says:Minimum 400 Watt Power Supply Requirement

I won't run into any trouble with the stock 300 Watt PS?

Any modern card with two DVI will do the job, better to post some you are looking at and ask if they will work.

Look through these. I just used newegg's filter so they may not all be applicable.

Current computer is an HP p6320f. Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit, AMD Phenom II X4 Processor, 8GB Ram.

Can someone please link me on Newegg a graphics card that will work well with two Acer P235H. All I use the computer for is poker and watching Netflix watch instantly. Whatever is the cheapest one that will accomplish both of these tasks well and has two dual-link DVI ports (wouldn't mind an HDMI or two as well, the monitors support VGA, DVI, and HDMI.)

Also, how do I determine if my power supply is sufficient? I don't even know what the included power supply with the computer was or how to figure it out. Thank you.

I want to try out both XBMC and Boxee. Can both be booted from a USB drive without messing up my Windows computer?

I must be doing Google Chrome wrong, because imo it ****ing sucks. bad. the goddamn thing locks up on me! meanwhile I'm browsing away on FF, no problem. I don't get it.

edit: It simply will not process certain websites, eg. the Los Angeles Times site. I don't care what settings I've restricted, it shouldn't time out. Other big mainstream sites work fine.

I think your computer is to blame, not Chrome. Try a clean wipe and fresh reinstall of Windows. I just loaded the Los Angeles Times site in Chrome with no problems.

It is actually what the HUD developer tells us, every time we find a bug.

Just a quick question. If it requires more than I am expecting I'll start a separate thread.

I'm basically fed up with my internet lately. Just now I tried to look at something on EBay and it just kept giving me the "Page Not Found" everytime I hit enter to search for the results.

It does it all the time on ESPN.com when I click a news link, it happens all the time on CNN.com. I never have problems on 2+2. My internet does not cut out at all so I don't know why it always gives me this page not found BS.

Normally what I have to do is either leave the page and try again or just keep trying until it finally goes through. It's really irritating. Then, usually, once it starts loading pages it's fine for a little while. It happens on a lot of websites that require clicking through.

It did it today, but I was downloading some demos on my PS3 so I just figured it was screwing with the bandwidth or whatver, but right now I'm the only one on the internet.

I have AVG and SuperAnti-Spyware running and that's about it. I use FireFox v3.6.10 with Addons of Ad Block Plus, a bunch of Java Console (different versions), Microsoft .NET Framework Assistant 1.2.1, Move Media Player (don't know what that is), and Skype Extension for Firefox 4.2.0.5198.

Edit: Just tried Ebay again and now it worked. Don't understand why it drops out all of a sudden.

what router do you have?

It's a router from my ISP. It's a modem/router. Sometime last month we had our speed increased to 12mbps, which was notably faster. I don't think it's the router.

do a clean reinstall of windows on your computer (start computer up with windows cd and select completely wipe boot drive and install fresh). it might seem like a lot but that will tell you for sure. it's a nightmare to try and figure out what's going wrong and take it out on windows (imo). a lot easier to start new.

this is a last (and often unnecessary) resort unless you already had a reason to do so. how mad would you be if you went through all the trouble of backing up, formatting and installing, copying files back, reinstalling programs, setting preferences.......etc all to find that it was your router?

lol i wouldn't. i have a great router already plus it's not really trouble imo. it's fantastic to have a fresh windows install. everything runs so beautifully

Agreed. People that dont reformat once or twice a year think it's a big deal, but it really isn't, if you keep backups. HM customers hate it when I tell them that it is the easiest solution to cure their stubborn/unusual problems,... but sometimes that is the simplest/quickest solution.*

I reformatted my XP machine every 6 months, or more, because it would get so slow. After 9 months on my Vista machine I opted for a SSD and fresh W7 Ultimate install, and I am VERY glad that I did. I expect to reinstall W7U to my SSD every 6 - 12 months also.

I was going to make a Mac joke here because "every six months" is ridiculous, then I realized that my MBP is a acting up after a couple of years use and reformatting it might clean it up...

Sorry, but that still doesn't make a MAC worth the premium you have to pay for the hardware, or the lack of software. How much does it cost for a MAC with a SSD?

Maybe if HM makes a MAC version, I might have a good reason to get a MAC.

i think it's only easy to reformat for a rather small % of computer users. i'm not running a separate HM DB server, file server, email server, etc, so there's a lot that needs to be backed up and reinstalled / copied over after reformatting. (even if you keep regular backups, there's still the last few nights' emails, hands, files, etc that need to be backed up.) then there are all the settings for the various programs that for the most part you can't back up (eg for AutoCAD there are probably 20-30 settings that i tweak in various places).

agreed that the absolute best performance comes right after a reformat. but i don't screw around on my normal computer so much that i lose performance more than every couple of years. i have a VM for that.

Meh. Paying a couple hundred up front vs a couple hours work a quarter for the life of the machine seems like a wash. But as XP rolls away and as OSX gets older that hidden maintenance charge is going to go away.

Not too much actually because you can install one yourself Macs, get base model re RAM and HD and upgrade it yourself. They are a premium even then but not too bad and they make really nice stuff. PC laptops suck imo, I havent really seen one I really like, whereas Id love to have a MBP.

LOL software comment? Surely trolling now? Boot camp ftw ldo (windows + mac).

Or instead of paying a couple of hundred upfront or investing hours of work every quarter, pay like 50$ upfront, get an good backup program and a reinstall takes about 20 minutes, costs you less than a dozen of clicks and whatever you didn't like is gone and everything is at it should be.
