Celts chances of getting KD have taken a hit. Probably just get LeBron now tho...

He's still garbage despite the team playing awesome

GS is still a brutal matchup for Kanter. He had a very nice game 3 against the smaller lineup though.

Had a very good series vs SAS and should find more opportunity if they get to the next rd. SmallFrye isn't keeping that beast off the glass.

He played well in the Spurs series where he actually had some value. Big props to Donovan/Russell for adjusting in both series.

Yeah, at least part of that rationale for that hire was the hope that Brooks could lure Durant. Westie crushing the Dubs past and the Wiz future.

billy donovan, steven adams should be getting more credit for this(by the media, this thread should see...)

adams being able to defend curry on the PnR switch has basically taken warriors out of what they want to run completely. donovan recognizing kanter is unplayable when curry is on the floor has been great too.

adams is outplaying draymond, russ is outplaying curry, durant is outplaying klay. ezeli is an idiot, bogut is actually injured. roberson is doing what he has to

so basically okc is winning cause they can switch all the PnR, force drives and they have the length to make up for any ground they give up. currys performing bad becuase he is defending westbrook and because he cant score on durant or adams, long guys who are locked in

people really got mad at me when i said durant being tall vs curry having a quick shot release, that durant has edge there and it is really showing here. curry really cant just get his look whenever he wants. he needs to get a good screen, have a defender fall asleep, have them reach for the ball, or get off him too much, okc is just ready

there is that one play where kanter reaches in on curry in the corner one of the games, and curry just raised up and drained a three, thats something curry isnt getting much of cause they know

heres a taek: i think warriors +225 is one of the worst playoff bets that isn't a super long shot in years. implied 31 percent means they need to be 80 percent to win at home and 50 on the road

Part of it must be the idea that the games aren't independent -- i.e. if the Warriors start winning, maybe it's because they have figured things out or an injury has occured or something.

But... yeah, that line seems off to me too.

May not be completely indicative of injury. From before the series:

Warriors have had the worst D I've seen too. Not even from being lazy. Just strategically awful. Going over screens when guarding Westgoat in the pick and roll? Closing out too hard on horrible shooters and getting blown by for a dunk? Biting on hesitation moves from bad shooters? Biting on pump fakes from bad shooters? I mean it's really just stupid stuff. Dunks and free throws 24/7

They're letting bad shooters get into the lane every possession instead of just giving them a contested jumper which would be so much more +EV defensively.

The games aren't independent. Views will have changed dramatically if the Warriors win games 5 and 6, but the line is still way off because I feel like OKC should be like a 7 pt favorite in game 6.

Seriously. Kanter is such a marginal factor. This series is 3-1 even if Kanter had torn his Achilles in the series against the Spurs.

This is what happens when you go down 20 in the second quarter. You start trying to force the action on defense, which almost never works against a team as skilled as OKC.

They do it the entire game though. That's why they are down by 20 already in the second quarter.

It's not like OKC has been on fire. They're getting super easy looks inside the paint or getting to the line. Mix in a couple 3s from fatters and Roberson and it's a laughing stock.

Also when you are getting D'd up then that starts OKC in transition and that means Russ kills you.

GS may be struggling on D, but so was SAS.

It's not struggling though. It's just being stupid. They're perfectly capable of not being stupid. At least everyone besides Klay

OKC is playing great D though. It helps that the Warriors aren't running their sets that won them 73 games.

Didn't see it mentioned here and can't find the source, but I heard OKC knew all of SAS's plays by heart and were calling them out from the bench etc.

exactly, core tenet of basketball: defense creates easy offense

Offense doesn't create easy defense, outside of that it limits transition offense against
