The only south Florida player that fits that is GK Jeff Attinella

Too young, not '87.

Gross isn't right either.

Since playing credentials are what matters my best friend in grad school was the first American to score a goal in the Austrian Bundesliga. He likes Bradley a lot now. Although he didn't in 2008 because he thought he tried to play vertical passes too much rather than use the angles.

The guy who used to sit next to me at work played professionally in South Africa while helping to get the WC set up, and recently left to go play again in Germany. He likes Bradley.

My gf's family in STL is good friends with the families of a numbers of players who came out of there (Twellman, Willis, Barklage, etc) so I've gotten to meet a bunch of them. Bradley is always one of their top 3 American field players.

Yeah, both of these are wrong. But there's no reason to call the guy out. If he wants his name out there he can say it, imo.

He unquestionably had a great youth career, fwiw.

Attinella was early 88, so theoretically it could be him as Bradley has a later birthdate for school purposes. But, blade so could very well be making stuff up. He ready showed that he isn't familiar with spurs by thinking they'd play with 2 up top when AVB doesn't do that

Edit: nope, attinella was born in September

ODP years are different than school years or youth soccer years. They're straight birth year.

Tone, there's definitely a reason to call him out if he wants to use all of these "credentials" as proof that he's right

Ok, well how about this.

I haven't talked to him, so I don't know if it actually is Person X. But the credentials line up 100% with this Person X.

As far as Person X goes: He had a great youth career. Great college career. Got kinda hosed on the professional side after that as far as not being allowed in MLS SuperDraft (weird situation, no real explanation came out publicly whether it was age or skill related), and then getting some really strange trials in Europe that didn't work out (not sure if he had a ****ty agent, or just wasn't seen as someone who could progress past the college game).

Well, some basic research says at least something in that list is a lie. 3 time big east champs means UConn (won 2004, 2005, and 2007). Going through the 2007 media guide there are only 6 players born in 1986. Fun fact, none of them played on the 2004 team and only one played in 2005.

I don't think he's completely lying though. There is one player listed as winning four state championships (in Conn though, lollol at that) and a nscaa (high school) all american. Keepers, we're a weird bunch. Notably missing from his list of spectacular achievements: Regional Team References (Req'd for national pool, only state team mentions), 2004 and 2005 conference championships. As for his 'career', he played in 19 games his freshman season, then never played another game for the Huskies.

That's pretty damn similar to my youth career, and I'll tell you right now, it's not that impressive.

I'm not 100% sure that's him though, like I said, he's lying about something.

Ikes, didn't he say that he played for south florida?

Tone, it's possible that he is telling some truth, but, at this point he's just as likely to be another bruiser account as he is a former all-American

He's already said where he went to school, fwiw. Other than the Big East thing, which I missed, I believe he's referring to club championships in the beginning of his post and high school NSCAA AA.

There's a typo in my post, but I did check for 87.

The big lie here is the national pool, that's the most impressive. There's someone else who might have been in the pool, but he didn't win 4 high school championships.

On top of all that, IIRC, in 1987 all the pool kids were in bradenton. You can't win high school championships when you are part of the bradenton academy.

I would say that this would be an extremely valid criticism about bradley at the time. It also brings a lot more to the table than blade's "he doesn't do anything special" argument.

NCSAA AA in high school are suuuuper arbitrary and voted on by people who literally never see a player play. I've played with many a AA, and it's way up and down. The best way is most definitely how far they climbed up the ODP ladder or what club they played for.

To climb up the ODP ladder, you have to get on your state team, then dominate at an intensive 7 day regional camp, then maybe another 7 day camp, then national pool stuff. They learn way more about you there than the high school stat sheet.

not just that, but iirc, it was starting with all 1982 pool kids that would spend their u-17 at IMG. Donovan, Beckerman, and Beasley were some of the first for a full on residential program. So, we should be able to find all of the 87 pool kids names somewhere (and where they went both for college and professionally if they skipped college)

let's make things more fun. Here is the name of the cardplayer profile that blade has linked on his 2p2 profile:

http://www.cardplayer.com/poker-play...overall?page=1

now, I have a hard time imagining someone being able to play that much poker when they are even on a partial scholarship. I would fully expect someone that went to bradenten to get a full scholarship due to pedigree. There are some in-season cashes from blade in pokerstars tournies for what would've been his senior year (where we would imagine he would start a lot)
