Shifting Gio from the position he normally plays for the USMNT (winger) only happened in this tourney because the loss of Tyler Adams broke up our MMA midfield.
Seems obvious now that Reyna is much more comfortable and effective as an attacking midfielder (which makes sense, since that's where he mostly plays for Dortmund). And you can certainly argue that Greg should have at least experimented with playing him there, but the question then becomes: When all 3 are healthy, which of these (Adams, Musah, McKennie) do you leave out? We're certainly not going to a 3-man back line. I doubt we're moving to a 4-4-2 now that we have Pulisic/Balogun/Weah.
