***'85 Bears are a special case in that they got super lucky not to have to face Miami in the Super Bowl. 12-4 Miami was by no means a better team than the Bears but their offense and Marino were kryptonite and they were never beating the Dolphins with their 46 defense that Buddy Ryan was probably too stubborn to ever switch out of against Marino. Stupid Patriots won their first game against Miami in the Orange Bowl since 1966 to win the AFC championship game. Everyone else on the list didn't care who they played; they were gonna crush anyone they faced.
I think they should be higher. That defense against the rigged rules is very, very impressive.

Palo's been bearish on SEA all season, called me a delusional homer when I said they were the best team late in the reg season.

him admitting the seahawks could v well be a top 10 team OAT is a massive coup

I was really surprised at that too. Pete wanted those style points.

Denver didn't choke IMO. Seattle outclassed them. That style wasn't gonna beat this Seahawks team.

Denver may well be back next year, though. IMO they'd have fared much better against any of the other NFC powers, but Seattle's a brutal stylistic matchup for them.

EDIT to add: Sorry for the tri-post. No clue how to multi-quote.

Seems like the only way to beat Seattle is to have a very good defense, and be able to match their physicality up front. San Francisco is basically the perfect counter to Seattle, they're very evenly matched and that might be a thorn in the side of a potential Seattle dynasty.

You just have to stop Seattle's offense and hope you muster up a few scores against their D.

Guys out earning big pay days just got really nervous.

Can someone tell me what Fox did that was so bad in this game? I thought the worst thing he did was not kick a FG on 4th down.

but the pooch kick to start the 2nd half wasn't so bad, I bet that play works 90 plus percent of the time. Fox isn't going to have a master plan to lose the Turnover battle and the special teams battle and win the game. Why all the firefox hate after this game is it just a build up from the year?
Fox did nothing wrong. Manning sucked on the big stage (as usual) and the Manning stooges need someone else to blame.

Seattle is the thorn in the side of a 9ers dynasty. Obv 1-2 teams in the league. NFC Championship game is gonna be the Super Bowl for the next 5 years minimum.

Lol @ Denver injuries.

Let's be honest here: Without the injuries that the Pats suffered, the SB is NE/SEA.

Well, that was tough to watch. I felt going in that the game was essentially a pick 'em, with the Seahawks maybe being very small favorites. Them winning didn't surprise me, but the Broncos getting blown out like that sure did. Just an absolute mess from start to finish. Peyton was rough and haters should enjoy getting to troll his performance, but I don't think they were winning this game even if he played well. The Seahawks just put on a clinic. Peyton setting the record for completions and Demaryius setting the record for receptions in such a thorough evisceration provided at least a little unintentional comedy.

Grats to Seahawks fans, your team is going to be good for a while.

It likely came down to HFA this year and a few plays. Seattle is ****ing good though and it annoys me to say that as a 9er fan a ton. Not shocked that someone outfoxed Fox though.
