He's funny, but I don't think his writing was so great as to set him apart from the legions of other funny people online. To me that was more about the fact that you had somebody on ESPN's platform who was allowed to do what he was doing. Once that became less special, he was "just" (which again, I don't think he's bad at all) another above average funny writer, which is cool until you run into folks like Spencer Hall and Drew Magary.

No way, I think BS was great at one point and has regressed big time. Now he's completely unbearable on every medium, so his regression isn't even debatable.

That's not a novelty.
I may be dense, but is this a claim that someone else was writing for him?

I'm sure more than a few of the strongest jokes were, uh, colloborative.

I'm not accusing him of crimes against humanity like that thieving True Detective guy.

Katie Nolan's pretty awesome- she's got a Youtube show called "No Filter".. Some of her more recent videos were pretty damn unfunny, but mostly she's good. About to have a show on FS1 on Sunday Nights IIRC.

Katie is great.

I know I/we rail on Simmons a lot but I think he has grown into a pretty good interviewer.

he's good as long as it's not celebs and he's telling them what they like and who they love.

Simmons def got a crush on katie, not that I blame him.

Def feel like there would have been a "if I was fifteen years younger" moment if he would have had a couple zimas in him

Katie Nolan's greatest hit was probably her mini rant on Rick Reilly. I can't imagine her own show working/lasting long on FS1, but she has a few gems with her youtube show.

Oh man Billy had a sweet take on rondo on the 1st part of the pod

Something along the lines of
"I'm worried about rondo - I think he's afraid to go in the paint now after the face fracture
I know from experience - I couldn't play the same again after I broke two bones in my face"

Haberstroh "oh yeah playing basketball?"

Simmons "took a spill on my Vespa"

Simmons is the best, convinced he's trolling erryone

Wildly uncomfortable moment when Simmons says him and haralabos agree normally on everything and you can tell haralabos is not okay with that association and bill explains why it's true. I can imagine how insulting that might feel to someone like haralabos

I am remembering a slight tone shift from Haralabos during that moment.

You might be right.

He probably wished he could shoot down Simmons' stupid trade ideas ala Zach Lowe.

I quite enjoyed the all star podcasts with former stars. Simmons may be at his best when he is simply reminiscing about basketball history. His basketball memories certainly put his guests at ease. Also Ahmad Rashad had some good Jordan stories.

Bob has a top, what, 3-5 basketball iq/knowledge? For bill to basically say "hey we're the same" is absolutely an insult.

It feels similar to me as walking up to Ivey and saying "hey we're normally always on the same page when it comes to how we play our hands" if I'm Ivey im insulted.
