No one is arguing this.
What I'm saying is that normal news reporting is constantly imperfect. Whats that quote again - "once you read an article about something you are an expert in, you realize that everything you ever read is likely similarly wrong."
Given a lot of these stories are quote-filled, anonymous, hard to falsify, involve known liars as the subject matter, and in this case involve an author with an apparent dubious history, it stands to reason that the error rate on these pieces is higher than normal.
