Credit to Groves, he handled that post-fight with a pot of class. No interest in seeing a third really, or any Froch fight, but if he needs to get beat up in Vegas by Ward, go for it.

DeGale super slick here.

Who's Ward?

Oh yeah that guy who's really boring both in and out the ring and who hardly ever fights any more.

zzzzzz

Soliman says he wants a unification bout with GGG. Didn't mention any other names. Interesting.

If GGG gets Geale approved, then can go after Soliman, then Martinez/Chavez/Froch... I will be a happy boxing fan.

Watch it be like Fletcher, Geale, random nobody though....

With all the attention on Froch Groves I'd missed that Sturm lost on Saturday.

Don't know if this was posted but Eubank Jnr more than held his own in this one round at least.

He lost to Groves as an amateur and the pro fight was as close as a fight could be.

Thanks for posting - yeah he looked good, and his old man still looks pretty handy as well!

Not shocked if Schaefer and Haymon unite with Mayweather Promotions soon.

Curious as to what GBP does, and how many fighters are actually under them. DLH doesn't seem to know or understand what is going on ever. Seems to be a figurehead (ala Mike Tyson Promotions).

Interesting indeed.

GGG Geale is on for July 26th. Perez Jennings supposedly on the undercard. That should be a fun night.

Porter Brook purse bid delayed 7 days til July 10th at the request of both camps. I wonder if Porter is even under contract with GBP, he's advised by Haymon, so who knows if he has a promotional deal, and if he doesn't, if he'll jump ship.

Dan Rafael sheds some light on this:

Quote:
Source It is not clear which of those fighters are under contract to Golden Boy, but it is believed that Khan, Guerrero and Alexander are (although my understanding is that Alexander’s June 21 fight is the final fight of his deal). Some fighters are known to not be under contract, including Porter, Thurman, Russell, Berto, Peterson and the Olympians.
So that would mean that Khan and Guerrero could potentially fight Top Rank fighters (guys like Manny, Bradley, Provodnikov, Marquez, Alvarado, Rios), but guys like Porter, Thurman and Alexander (bc his next fight is already finalized), probably not.

Big fight for GGG. Finally fighting a legit opponent. We'll see if he can be the baby faced assassin he is now.

Frampton Martinez II set for September in Northern Ireland. Sounds like it could be a real good one.

And it's looking likely that Quigg's next opponent will be Leo Santa Cruz as well. If both Frampton and Quigg can come through their fights I think we could see another stadium fight.

Oh man, that's some good featherweight action if so. Welterweights, take note (rather, Al Haymon, take note).

Are any of these UC fights on Cotto/Martinez worth watching?

I only heard of one guy on it (Andy Lee).

Looks like another quality opponent that Eubank Jr has picked. He likes to test himself...

Basically no. Even by TR standards this is a pathetic, FNF-level undercard. When fans complain about PPVs, this is the card they are complaining about.

Felix Verdejo is a name you should know, though. He's being pimped as the next superstar Puerto Rican, and in fact he does seems like the real deal. Not sure if he's on the televised portion.

Vasquez Jr was a vanquished foe of Donaire's during his 2012 campaign. His bout against Sonsona (the freakin' cofeature) is a rematch that Vasquez won KO4 in 2010.

Coincidentally, Jorge Melendez and JF Maciel have about the same record, 28-3, though Melendez has a draw. Which is about the most interesting thing about this fight.

Porter-Brook booked for August 9th in NYC.

Kinda a little more curious about Devon Alexander-JSK on the 21st now.
