Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

ok please don't fool me again Arum. I knew this was a ****ty and disgusting fight, but got tricked in the last seconds of hype.

If Pacquiao fights Marquez next at anywhere over 135 (lol) i will not even watch it.
So sick of this.

sky commentators are horrible, called the fight totally wrong saying Mosley was doing fantastic (i agree with Wires he done nothing) and Pacman was struggling (he wasn't).

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

There have to be financial bonuses for going the distance, right?

What else could explain Margarito hanging around with a ****ed up face or Clottey/Mosley just playing peek-a-boo for 12 rounds? No risk getting KOed. So, why even put up a fight? Just collect my check and go home.

Mayweather isn't getting any younger either.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

Disappointing, and not really all that exciting, but that was clearly Mosley's gameplan from the outset.

I don't really read into this too much regarding Pacquiao's performance. No, it wasn't vintage but this was a fight that never should've been made in the first place. He'll get back to that extra gear if he fights Marquez again or - please God - PBF.

Sigh.

No idea, probably not.

I read a very recent interview with Floyd. There he said he will fight Pacquiao as long as he agrees to those olympic tests.

Now, i've heard a few times that Manny agrees to these tests, but I've never seen it stated clearly that it is with no cutoffs, bloodtest etc.

I think the best line for Pacquiao to get a fight with Mayweather (if he wants one) is to go on ESPN live and just lay it out, telling the whole world that he will do exactly the tests that Mayweather wanted him to do. No bull****ting.

That way, Mayweather just need to putup or shutup. He will look like the biggest ***** of all time if he won't fight Manny after that.
As it is right now, he can always fall back on "just do the tests".

It obviously wasn't a knockdown, but aren't the judges forced to go by what bayless decides inside the ring?

I thought they were and could only score a fighter that was knocked down a 10 for a round if they scored the other fighter a 10, with all the different state rules and associations who the hell knows.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

Shane was most responsible for the boring fight. He is a veteran and knows what he is doing, and fought off the back foot all night and did not commit at all. Its really hard to get anything solid going against someone doing that. Bearing that in mind, Pac was too nice respectful to be entertaining. they both were. Wayy to much tapping, and nodding, and not enough wanting to take each others heads off.

You can forgive one like this to Pac...all of his others have been extremely entertaining.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

I wish more in the media would just call Floyd out. Just a parade of columnists letting him know that he alone is responsible for his own sports' fight of the decade not happening and that as a public we shouldn't consider him as anything more than a great fighter that was scared to face the greatest when it really mattered.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

Pac vs Sergio Martinez at 147. Sergio would melt off the weight to pick up that paycheck. I'd also like to see Manny vs Sergio at 154 but I doubt Manny's team would go for it. Ideally I'd like to see Manny just go for all time glory and fight Sergio for the 160 title with no catchweight.

I don't see Floyd risking his zero to fight Manny. I predict Floyd vs Victor Ortiz is next for him.

I have a zero too. PBF's zero at this point is closer to mine than Marciano's.

yes.

and it wouldnt be the same, becuz it wont be a love fest. too much bad blood and pride there. if you mean about PBf being a defensive wizard, well that`s true, it wont be a toe-to-toe brawl. but it should be a great match to watch.

actually, PBF's 0 is exactly like Marcianos.

Overrated because of being undefeated.
