Fell asleep at around 3am, Sky+'d it though. Just watched it, worst Manny performance I've seen in quite some time. Guys were way too friendly which didn't help, even when he floored Shane they touched gloves after that, wtf was that all about?

I'm glad I didn't stay up for that. The fight only got going after manny was supposedly knocked down.

Both fighters seemed more interested in touching gloves in the early rounds.

Nothing to do with the fact he knows he would get absolutely smashed by Manny.

I wouldn't mind seeing Khan vs Floyd at 147.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

I just thank the stars for Arce vs Vazquez jr last night. Was saying at the bar last night that you can book the Arce fight as the best one for the night. ME was going to be crap. Honestly, the result could have already been predicted by pointing to Mosley's work last year in the Mayweather and Mora fights. Too hesitant to pull the trigger. At least Mosley's got some more money to pay for the recent divorce.

Based on the reports coming out, the most likely scenario is that Pac fights JMM in Nov. They will hype it up by showing that JMM fought the 2 close fights before. Unfortunately, the 3rd fight will be at 147, so JMM will have his ass handed to him. JMM will take the fight because it will be a 5MM payday. If this fight really happens, Pac will probably still come in at 145 at the weigh in. He won't give a **** about what JMM comes in at. He could come in right at 147 and Pac would not care (JMM would be coming in chubby if he did that).

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

Pac was way more effective countering Hatton's aggression. Pac doesn't charge all the time anymore. Maybe at 130 and below, not anymore. Hatton fought stupid against both of them.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

Shame about the fight, Mosley was massively wary of Pacquiao countering him and in the end settled for going the distance.

It feels like a disappointing performance from Pacquiao but really it is only disappointing by the standards he has set over the last couple of years. I knew something must have been wrong during the fight and the leg cramps that Pacquiao claimed to have do explain a lot, if you compare his foot work to recent fights it's like he was a different guy out there.

The Manny-Floyd fight has probably passed its point of peak interest and to be honest I would be very happy if Floyd got a long prison sentence and we didn't have to hear from that POS again.

I've always disagreed with this thought, throughout his career Hatton fought like that and it was his best chance of winning imo.

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

Hatton was stupid and lazy to allow himself to blow up to 190 pounds in between fights. He fought his style against Floyd and Manny though and it gave him his best chance to win. Do you think hanging back and trying to be a careful boxer was going to work for Hatton against Manny or Floyd?

Re: SE Boxing Thread (still waiting for PBF v. Pac)

I hate the way people always have excuses for Hatton when it comes to his losses, or the BS about him fighting the "wrong fight". He doesn't need an excuse, he lost to two guys who were the best in the world at that point. Fighting carefully against either guy may well have seen him last longer but it wouldn't give him a better chance of winning.

So you want a guy to be sent to prison because he hasn't agreed to fight Pacquiao yet?

No, I want him to be sent to prison because he's an annoying woman beating thug, nothing to do with Pacquiao.

What makes you think he beat a woman? Has he been found guilty?

I think his wife left their house on a stretcher, anyway I don't really care if he's guilty or not. I just think it would be hilarious if he got banged up.

Floyd put someone on a stretcher? It's going to be hard for the prosecutors to prove this beyond a reasonable doubt.
