Spending:

Everton have spent less but are now ahead of Liverpool

Pompey have spent less but are now equivalent of Liverpool

Villa have spent less but are now equivalent of Liverpool

Man City have spent less but are now equivalent of Liverpool

So all of these teams have spent less during Rafa's reign, but they've actually caught up with him, meanwhile he's spent the same as Utd and got nowhere.

I hate the pool as much as anyone, but that is way below the belt, ban imo.

As regards the waiter there is only one observation needed. The waiter: Good at cups crap at leagues.

Liverpools league ended after 21 games this season when they were losing 1 nil away to Reading and instead of trying to win the game like Ferguson or Wenger (or any other manager for that matter) El Goatee took off Gerrard and Carragher with a half hour to go because they had a Champions league game a few days later.

Also El Goatee didnt "inherit a squad that was inferior to the other big three" he inherited an excellent cup team with a view to turning them into title contenders.
His inability to do this (despite the fact that he has spent more than anyone except Chelsea ) and the continued domestic success of United, Arsenal and Chelsea is the reason why his job is under threat.

Reading was our 15th league game of this campaign. And the league campaign isn't over. There is still an awful lot to play for - and it is the final table that is most important. Now that we are not going to win the title the important question will be as to whether we progressed over 38 games.

In terms of absolute € the champions league fixture against Marseilles was far, far, far more important. Making sure key players were available for it was priority.

Houllier had stagnated during the last two years of his tenure. He won nothing over his last two season apart from a league cup in 2003; and he regressed in European competition and the league over those two years. Therefore, the team Benitiez inherited hadn't been an 'excellent cup team' or an excellent team of any sort for final period of Houllier's time in charge. So you have dropped another sweeping statement that is bollocks. Well done.

And again, you can say that Liverpool have spent more than everyone other than Chelsea. But the figures show that their net spend is not higher than Utd's by any significant degree. Which means, as I have already said, that the investment level is short of reaching a level where failure to win the title should be viewed as abject failure.

But I bet you thought you wrapped up the whole thing with those couple of inaccurate paragraphs huh? The use of "El Goatee" was a particularly nice touch I must admit.

I honestly don't think so, and you won't find a Thieverpool fan that'll agree with you. They want the Yanks out - end of.

Personally - LMFAO!

But what do they want? There are very few people in the world who can afford to buy them w/o credit. Its starting to look like a ****ty scenario over there. Hicks and Gillett better pray their asses off they make CL next year or else a ton of revenue leaves the club.

ManU would be in a similar pinch if they didn't make CL (which is highly unlikely ever).

At least Arsenals debt is due to its stadium.

anatta, streams are your best bet. Not sure how you find those.

New American owners for Derby?

Interesting.

One thing I noticed is that they mention the owners would run the team like Lerner at Villa and not like ManU and Liver****e. Good Stuff.

This has to be an interesting team to buy. Their going down, no question, but they get that balloon payment and some more ends from the new owner. Should bounce back soon, I would think. Maybe Feilhaber should stay there!

Also,WTF, Spurs looking to sign Woodgate? Are you serious? Dudes got game, but he's 28 and always injured. This seems silly.

Nice bit of business for us considering he would be 4th pick to play in the centre of midfield. He has been pretty poor this season, not the best passer of the ball. Won't forget his great performance against Barca at the Nou Camp though.

It seems the Gunners have had a bid for Jonathan Woodgate accepted by Boro and he may sign under the noses of the scum....sorry Spurs!

Would be an absolutely outstanding signing if it happens (for either team).

It amazes me that Woodgate is still highly regarded within the game. Your theoretical upside is completely irrelevant if you can't manage more than 25 games per season on average due to the fact that you are made of glass.
