Entertaining match going on between Spurs and Blackburn.

I havn't gotten to see Bentley a lot before today, but he is very impressive. I'd love to see him at WHL, but I he probably will want to go to a more successful club.

I'm actually looking forward to games now, so good to see us playing some real attacking football.

I believe he left Arsenal purely to get first team football, and I don't think I'd pick him if I was manager of any of the top four.

hleb had teh worst 'cameo' as a sub ever. does fk all for 15 mins, then gets clear in the box and miscontrols it, twat.

im also sick of ppl making -ev life decisions. e.g. going to the game today, we wait for a direct train, instead of changing in the middle. it is obv +ev to take the first train and change but no, we get the 2nd train and ldo it breaks down ffs!! therefore, 20 mins late to the match.
I'm such a life nit i realise after all this.

Def. a valid piont; but this kid did put his money where his mouth is (and, yes, he had a big mouth). Turns out he make a damn fine move. If he was still at Arsenal, he wouldn't have been getting his chance until Feb., and that would have only been due to injuries.

re: Bentley

I agree that all of the big 4 may not need him, but I think a club like Liverpool would be a great fit for him. They could put him opposite of Babel in that 4-2-3-1 that they have been running and I think it would improve them quite a bit.

Ramos is supposedly interested in buying him and possibly selling Lennon, which I think would be a great move.

There is also a lot of interest from some big Spanish clubs in him (supposedly), but I don't know whether or not he is interested in leaving England.

Better than getting in the box, being hauled down by Kuyt and not winning a penalty I guess

thank god is all I can say. We didn't play the way we should've and at least we rescued the point.

I'm just hoping that we can get a point at the bridge and that chelsea slip up against everton(that has the possibility of being a tricky tie for chelsea). I think we'll be able to get all 3 points from aresenal at OT

it's still our title to lose, but, it just got a bit more close for comfort

you shouldn't be worried about the league. we have avram grant as first team coach. he'll find some way to do us in, my guess is that it'll be at newcastle. he'll have his kevin keegan moment.

3 points is enough to worry, espcially when chelsea are undefeated in the league in 08

If we win it this year its a sad reflection on the current state of the EPL and by extrapolation a sad reflection on European football (top 4 english sides including livercrap still in CL) and by further extrapolation we can see how worthless winning world player of the the year would be this year.

if you win this year, it will be because you completely deserved it as your club is winning in the league inspite of the tactical genius that is Avram Grant. I think any lesser club and it would be a complete tailspin, but obviously chelsea have an insane amount of talent

Funny how when Chelsea lose then Grant gets all the "credit" but when they win it is "in spite" of.

Actually Grant was given a lot of credit by me and others after he first took over and the team did not implode, not only had we lost the special one but we had alot of injuries as well. The team kept on trucking though, and everyone attributed this to AG.

Then as soon as we had a full squad of players, and the team isnt picking itself, nearly every game has a wtf moment when it comes to team selection and substitutions. He looks like he is learning the trade on the job, not acceptable at this level imo.

Also dont forget we lost to the mighty Barnsley under his watch. Unthinkable under the special one.

As far as the league goes, if a half cocked, unmotivated tactically inept and massively playing within themselves Chelsea can win, that speaks volumes imo.

This was meant to be the year that other teams broke through and the EPL got more competitive, as it happens it seems that Man U and Chelsea can cement 1 and 2 without even trying that hard, Arse are still obviously rebuilding yet cruise to at least 3rd.

I suppose a counter arguement could be made about the points differance between the top teams, as a few seasons ago Chelsea won by a huge margin.
However that just means that the top 3 have closed together in level.

The derby between Liverpool and Everton spoke volumes for me. If any game was going to demonstrate the strength in depth of the EPL this was it. However it was a terrible game and Everton the team most likely to upset the apple cart of the top 4 looked totally out of there depth, and this was just against Liverpool, who did not exactly shine in that match. Everton did nothing in that game to make you think they belonged up with the big boys, quite the opposite.

also, the 'without ronaldo where would united be' argument is poor. he's the best player in the world for a reason. barcelona a couple years ago without ronaldinho weren't the best side in spain.

i think where united are hurting this year is in two key places.

first, ferguson's loyalty to scholes is hurting the team. aside from his wonderful cross to ronaldo last week, he's really struggled to make an impact on the team. and second, i think wes brown is not the sort of right back that a club the pedigree of manyoo should be sending out there. however, aside from sagna, right back seems a position of massive weakness in the premiership this season.

You seem to be contradicting yourself there. If Barcelona were not the best team without Ronaldinho, then perhaps Man U would not be the 2nd best team without Ronaldo.

So asking where would Man U be without Ronaldo seems a valid question to me.

Also just because he is a great player/best in world, ultimately theres no difference in asking what Man U would be like without there best player and what would Spurs be like without Berbatov for example. Some teams are more dependent on key personal than others and Man U is one of those teams imo.

Just because they have the best player in the world dosnt mean they have to depend on him LDO. If it was a truly great team it could stand his loss, or at least be more resilient/flexible to his loss. As it stands I think MU would be very brittle to the loss of Ronaldo.
