It's not hazing unless he was hazing staff. It's not a player or their families.

Gambling, or sexing a staff member. My bet is the last one.

I don't know why hazing a player wouldn't qualify for dismissal, especially if there is a No Tolerance policy after all the **** they went through. Wouldn't even need a complaint, just confirmation it happened.

Gambling would require the league and union be notified. If this is truly all dealt with internally, gambling or substance use is off the table.

Because the GM said it doesn't involve a player or their families. Unless you think he's lying.

If it is criminal you think law enforcement would have said something I guess, very odd for sure.

To the press? sure. To the league? no.
But I'm jaded and don't believe anyone.

No way you terminate a contract for that . They are two grown adults having consensual sex if it’s true . Yeah you may want to cut him or trade him but how are those grounds to void a contract.

Really strange situation, obviously the details will come out eventually of what actually happened. Why let people run wild with rumours, unless it's criminal and there is an ongoing investigation.

The NHL has bigger fish to fry, like not allowing MAF to wear a mask for indigenous people night.

Him back with DeBrincat isn’t shocking at all. I heard he did not want a western conference travel schedule, so perhaps that played a factor. Wonder what he has left in the tank.

I like that you’re gambling on gambling. I like that you’re so confident, when it’s very likely you’re wrong too.

"Hearing" Perry was intoxicated and something happened with a team employee at a organization function.

I heard Detroit had the most cap spaces as well so money might have been part of it as well

The NHL as a whole is pretty screwed up.
  • The pride sticks in warmup. Heck let players have the sticks or not in warmups
  • Fleury Mask thing Just approve it and no one probably hears about it other than Minnesota . Who cares if they do
  • Blackouts If the games sold out zero blackouts. You want fans to see Mcdavid , Mathews and the stars
  • Perry situation. If you do not want people to speculate just tell the truth . I feel bad for Bedard and his family as I don't believe the rumour at all

begging ppl to understand once and for all why regional broadcasts are blacked out when you live outside that region and/or aren't subscribed

Sportsnet NHL Blackout Explanations

Due to regional broadcast regulations set forth by the NHL, Sportsnet game telecasts must be blacked out in certain areas of Canada. The broadcast boundaries for Sportsnet’s regional NHL games have been set by the NHL since the network’s inception in 1998 and Sportsnet is contractually obligated to follow them.

reads like he sexually harassment a team employee, hopefully not more serious than that. has anyone leaked the details to any "insiders" yet? pretty weird if not

edit: actually who knows, could be beating up an equipment guy or lots of other things...

also didn't realize that the ****hawks signed him for $4m ... he'd been making basically the minimum for the last 4 seasons, what a bunch of dumbasses lol

Him and Foligno hit the lottery this year. I think the hawks had to reach the cap floor.

oh right, forgot about the cap floor

but in that case, i'd much rather do the thing where you pick up assets to take other teams (hopefully expiring) cap dumps than sign washed up bums for way too much money

Foligno was obviously a lol leadership signing. They did get Hall as a cap dump.

Perry, idk. Had 66 pts two years ago, was off to an ol start and probably the kind of dude teams want to trade for at the deadline (winning pedigree, huge douchebag). Not sure what was out there for the Hawks as far as cap dumps without 2+ years of term

So, what is it? Sure I could be wrong but you seem to be saying that the gambling possiblitity is off the table. Sports betting is a bomb waiting to go off. And I say this as a avid poker player. There are just too many ways things can go south. There is, of course, the good old fashion fixed games and point shaving, but now there is a a prop bet possibility on every play. If the Hawks want to stop all the rumors and notions just come out and what the heck is going on.

Shane Pinto just got suspended for gambling. Lots of NFL players have. That has to come out and part of the reason it does is because the leagues need to make sure players know not to do it because they need to make sure the games appear as fair/not rigged as possible.
