Anybody else notice the Mammoth are leading the central division in the west?

They just extended 21 year old Logan Cooley 8 for 80.

He was drafted by the Coyotes. One of the last things they got right along with selling the team.

Doubt ec_outlaw pays much attention to this thread anymore, but I'm sure he must be pissed.

Cooley is a bonafide stud who turned down a contract with them a few weeks ago. I’m sure Utah is ecstatic right now, especially considering they signed him for less than Necas, and I’m sure that the Cooley deal is going to look way better in a couple years if not sooner than that.

Cooley got his introduction to hockey by going to this dude below’s camp as a child. Seems to have worked out pretty well.

Habs win one in OT? That's unusual.

Unusual it wasn't Caufield that scored

Hockey on prime is different; can see what goes on in the arena 30 minutes before game time.

Somehow, the Leafs are 4-1 lately and going up the standings, could be an interesting game tonight.

My hot take on the Leafs as a hater...given the parity in the east and the loss of Marner, and the seeming decline of Matthews (he is only 28, but something seems off more than losing Marner), the Leafs need to get used to the fact that every team can beat them, they can't just show up anymore in the regular season and get two points on talent alone. I think since the Leafs are a veteran team who are used to cruising into the playoffs, it's harder for them to bring the intensity that younger, more hungry teams bring. Like Habs, Sens, Wings...it's easier to convince their kids that the next game is a big deal. But I admit idk what I'm talking about and I like trying to get in the heads of teams and players and making up what I think is going on. And like you said, they really aren't doing badly...like every other team, they are right there.

V. Vanecek, 4 goals allowed on 18 shots. Habs got Utah next game after NJ tomorrow.

Habs played their worst game of year vs. Philly yesterday. Still got a point. Outshot first period like 20 to 3. Down 3-0. Took lead 4-3. Lost in SO.

Boys look good, but not great. But I'm more thinking long term, looking at the young players development. Like Demidov is the real deal. Hutson still showing out, improving. Slaf has 6 goals. Dobson fitting in. Caufield and Suzuki starting to enter prime and playing their best.

Still need some experience, size, 2C help. Fun team though, and a team that has a good team first attitude, guys taking less money and bringing the effort most nights.
