I think they have been lucky too. They are sort of built for OT, so that does help the regular season results. Small, fast, skilled guys in open ice sort of thing. Though they lost their last couple of games that were tied in regulation. Won a bunch before that.

Demidov gaining experience and getting moved recently to PP1 is something that will help habs improve. He also is getting very few minutes for his production. He will gain Marty's trust and get more minutes, again another spot where it's easy to see potential improvement.

Though it's true some guys been on huge heaters. That kid center...Oliver Kapenen. Been lucky with shooting %. Seems like a good two way bottom 6 guy though. Like a keeper, just not a guy to center Demidov, though they are getting away with it now as he is finishing. As is Newhook for the first time in his life on the other wing, opposite Demidov.

Maybe just play Monty on back to backs and just see what Dobes can do with the pressure of being not just number 1, which he has to be now, but an old school workhorse. They can't bring up top G prospect Fowler, he's just a kid out of NCAA. They have another guy in Laval, a vet with NHL experience, but I say limit Monty, try to ride Dobes, and hope Monty can figure things out. He has been. one could argue, better than average the last 3 years getting bombarded night after night. So, I think he can do it, but maybe not, maybe he just doesn't have it anymore.

Good timing, as I think Leafs players want to get in the ring with each other right now.

It's fun to watch, but you have to wonder what will happen in the playoffs again once the officials swallow the whistle and physicality ramps up.

PP has been crushing since Demidov moved to PP1. Now top 5 in the league and that should be sustainable. Laine mostly sucks, but would be a nice addition to PP2 to make them a bit more dangerous too.

Dobes was crying after his first loss, saying he let the team down. It's great that he has that passion, but maybe MSL is hesitant to tell him he's the guy and lump all the pressure on top of him if he doesn't yet have the killer mentality. It would be nice if Monty could continue to carry a lot of the load, but if he's gonna be this terrible then there may be no other choice.

I see new post indicators on the "front page" of SE, and yesterday it was the same thing with another poster seemingly posting in the NHL thread, but I can't see it.

Great challenge by the Oilers on that goal with 30 seconds left to avoid the loss than win in Ovedrtime

when weird things happen on the computer it enters my head someone is hacking me...probably guilt from...sometimes when the wife is asleep i get on the computer and oh forget i said that. umm

Tage Thompson for M. Hage. Tage for Hage. Who says no! Michael Hage is tearing up (wait is that how you spell that or is that like crying...ok googled it's the same. knew it all along... ) tearing up the NCAA. But, they got him at wing, they are not sure if he is a center... or is it Centre, seen that too. Nah, that's just French spelling not official ice hockey spelling imo.

Anyways, credible reporting (seriously here) says Habs are contacting Sabres regarding Tage Thompson. Makes sense, but a lot of teams would want that guy. Vancouver. A lot of teams. But Sabres are allegedly saying "not available at this time". I know, bs hockey rumors. or is it...Rumours...think that is like British spelling.

I like Hage though, and for good reason he is a Habs fan favorite already. Had some real challenges with his dad passing.

The kid in Russia, Habs traded up in second round to get this guy. Alexander Zharovsky , has been impressive in the KHL with 12 points in 12 games.

That was shaping up as the most Oilers loss of Oilers losses:

1) Come out ok
2) Score a goal and really turn it on - outshot Philly something like 15-0 from 10:00 first period to 10:00 second period but couldn't score
3) Skinner and Nurse conspire to let in a simple point shot; Nurse stands beside his guy in front doing nothing, then drops to one knee to ensure maximum screen of Skinner
4) Oilers allow a last second goal and lose

Very fortunate that Tippett was a toenail offside.

I was so confused by this. I saw on score app that Sanheim scored with 20 seconds left and was like well that sucks for Oilers, gg.

Then I went to play tennis. Was watching highlights after tennis and saw a 2-1 Oilers final score and was so confused about what simulation I was living in. It was very weird. Thought I somehow ended up on a different path in the space time continuum.

The Stars are 4-0-1 in their last 5 games in which they have fallen behind by 2 goals to nothing.

Exciting hockey, but no way to make a living.

Now both Habs goalies suck, so that's great!

Funnily enough, 52% deserved to win for Habs in that one, so not even a bad performance.

story they seem to be going with:

Quote:
Everyone stated that it was a freak accident that caused Jack Hughes’ hand injury. I’m being told he accidentally leaned on a glass, and it broke, causing the cut

if thats what really happened, then how many drinks was it before he put his entire body weight on a wine glass or whatever until it carved up his hand? jfc

Oops, 3 games since this comment and only 3 total goals and 3 losses. Shooting % has plummeted to 10.6% (still good for 5v5, but not sun run good). Gonna have to start playing better soon of won't even be in a playoff spot after the December gauntlet.

I think 20 games is a better indicator

Almost all are at 20 games

New CDN Power Rankings
  1. Winnipeg
  2. Ottawa
  3. Montreal
  4. Vancouver
  5. Edmonton
  6. Toronto
  7. Calgary

Colorado is by far the dominant team in the NHL and with two new Goalies

Penguins and Anaheim seems to be the biggest surprises . I consider Vegas a bit of a disappointment but its early

Any chance Edmonton or Toronto miss the playoffs? 40 Games in will be a good insight into what is going on

That was a sick goal in OT! Also crazy effort by Tavares, who was supposed to go for a change but goes down and fights off all 3 Blues and kicks the puck out, like what the what!.
