No rant, watched it live though, was hilariously terrible. The team is not built well at all and is honestly just a one line team w Crosby/Guentzel/Whoever. Rumors are they’re going to move Guentzel and then you can expect them to be truly horrific.

Prayed that they didn’t resign Letang but they did, he’s pretty ****ing awful and has been for years. Wildly overrated, makes so many of the worst mistakes you could imagine despite his skating and offensive skill.

But yeah, they won’t be contenders for…who knows? At least Crosby and Malkin got 3 rings and are sure fire HOFers. Oh well, that’s life.

friedman was saying the penguins and canucks are once again talking, on a guentzel trade this time. looks like he's still playing well. guessing the penguins would ask for hoglander, but hopefully they counter with podkolzin or something. a bunch of draft picks, naturally. and maybe someone like garland or mikheyev to match salaries. idk...

yeah looks fairly crosby-inflated. they're a great partnership, but sid is def driving it. guentzel looks pretty mediocre with geno, or anyone else. hopefully the canucks don't overpay for him ... though if they do get him, he'll be playing with other good players, so it shoukl be ok. might be better if they target someone else though

if i learned anything from edmonton, is that you also need to be good to do well skating next to an elite player in order to have good production

whether or not crosby inflates it or not, guentzel is elite at putting in SOG volume

London police have ordered 5 members of the Canadian Junior Team from 2018 to surrender on charges of sexual assault, and those three have all coincidentally taken leaves of absence from their teams. If they're in that, their NHL time is done.

perhaps hart can come back in a few years as a backup goalie signed midseason to replace an injured guy where the "hey we need a goalie and this is an emergency" provides enough cover for the signing

McLeod was somewhat of a bright spot for the Devils this year, particularly on faceoffs. Foote certainly was not.
