Woodcroft’s record in Edmonton was 79-41-13 ... he leaves the Oilers with the highest regular winning percentage by a coach

As an AHL head coach, Kris Knoblauch's teams have gone 119-122, missed the playoffs twice in three tries and won only a single playoff round.

So, since July...
Connor's Agent -> Oilers CEO
Connor's Jr Linemate -> Oilers UFA splash

lmao

they're gonna spend the next couple years completely deepthroating mcbust and he'll still walk

And Paul Coffey replaces Manson . If this was April 1 st I think it was a joke

What a horrible decision

Looking more at the Firing of Jay

Yes he should be accountable as he changed up the defensive style that looks more like a zone than anything and that was not working well

Though as 72off points out you replace him with a guy that has had mediocre success in the AHL. Questionable but lets let that go

You always let the new coach hire his assistants but no the Oilers are placing the advisor to the owner with zero coaching experience as a assistant coach.

Rumor's have it that Holland was not involved in the decision and in his last year of contract may be fired as well

This may be one of the worst managed teams now in the league with ownership and GM's now that Ottawa is sold

Draisaitl only has 1 year left after this one, and is 28. Has to be deadline fodder right?

Him and Mcdavid are good friends. Draisaitl even bought a place in Ontario beside Mcdavid. There is no way they can afford both unless they dump Nurses contract and Campbells

I see him and Mcdavid leaving . The scuttle butt is Katz hired Mcdavid's agent and the new coach hoping to resign Mcdavid

If I am either Im leaving for a US city were the state has no taxes like Vegas or Florida or even Nashville

Speaking of old boys club, I found it strange that The Oilers had Manson and The Jets had Huddy.

The Jets kept Huddy through 3 coaches. They do seem to have better team defence now, but Huddy helped developed a lot of good defencemen.

Its fair to say some players will make good coaches and some will not. Though the decision to keep an assistant usually lies with the coach. Huddy also started in the ECHL before making the jump as well Manson started with the Prince Albert Raiders.
Coffey has no coaching experience.

I still remember living in Edmonton and my neighbor a few doors down was the trainer for the Oilers . One of the old 80's oilers got his trainer certificate and they hired him and fired the neighbor.

Katz bought the team so he could hang with the 80's Oilers and is one of the main problems .

jfc. yeah obv a massive part of the problem is that katz is wayyyyy too involved in everything. reminds me a lot of the canucks the last 10 years. benning hung around forever because he literally just did whatever stupid thing the owner wanted, and the owner wanted to play fantasy hockey with an actual nhl team, so they were almost top to bottom dogshit

Marek on 32TP talking Connor McDavid: "He is legitimately pissed off, he's had it, and he's like legit pissed"
why, bro? they're doing everything you want, bringing in all your friends. they also had spec write an article today saying that mcbust isn't behind any of this stuff, and lololol, ok bro. someone even asked at the presser the other day if the players were consulted about the coaching change, that jackson guy was like hell no, but holland was like yeah of course we talked to the veteran leaders about it, hilarious.

like obviously they did, come on man. even if mcbust's former agent wasn't the team's ceo they still would have run all of this past him to see what he thinks, at the very least. what a gongshow

Here's a goalie axiom:

The problem is unlikely to be your goalie.

It's unlikely to be your goalie.

Been doing my best to keep up with my Stars during foosball season. Knew they were sucking on their PP, so found this uplifting.

Quote:
The Stars entered the game with one of the worst power plays in the league, converting at just a 10.8 percent clip. But the Wild have the worst penalty-kill unit in the NHL, and the Stars took advantage.

The Stars scored five power play goals on six chances to tie a franchise record, and also had two shorthanded goals. The Wild set a new record for the most power play goals allowed.
Shorthanded goals fun to watch too!

i mean, sometimes it isn't, yeah. possibly a lot of the time it's a team defense problem and the goalie is a scapegoat. but sometimes, it's the goalie

the loilers were 30th in sv% when i looked yesterday, but yesterday's win moved them up to 23rd. i've seen a couple of their games this season, and the goaltending was awful

related: saw the other day the list of goalies that mcbust has played in front of in the nhl... tyler bunz, laurent brossoit, anders nilsson, cam talbot, jonas gustavsson, al montoya, anthony stolarz, mikko koskinen, mike smith, stuart skinner, matthew berlin, jack campbell

sometimes it IS the goalie. and the gm

Obviously it's everyone of those goalies, and whoever the next goalie is.

The one person everyone thought would be fired was the goalie coach Dustin Schwartz that has been there a long time . Lets not forget Devin Dubnyk and Cam, Talbot had some great years after being traded by the OIlers

Patrick Kane met with the Leafs today supposedly about possibly signing with them, but he has 8 teams he is interested in playing for.

While all is good, we need defense at the moment.

Because Muricans can't handle any contest ending in a tie.

I think they ought to play the 3 on 3 OT and if it's still tied each team must pull their goalie and play until there is a WINNER!
