traditionally, Olympic ice is larger than NHL ice, but for the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympics, the Milan arena is expected to have an ice surface that is smaller than an NHL rink. Historically, Olympic rinks are 200 feet long by 100 feet wide, while NHL rinks are 200 feet by 85 feet, making the Olympic rinks 15 feet wider.
Best I can tell it's still wider but 4 feet shorter.

On Tuesday, the Athletic reported that the IIHF approved a 196.85-foot by 85.3-foot sheet of ice in Milan, which is more than three feet shorter than the NHL's standard 200-foot by 85-foot dimensions. The issue was first raised publicly on Monday by Team Canada assistant coach Pete DeBoer in a Sportsnet radio interview the "Real Kyper and Bourne" show. DeBoer, who visited Milan earlier this fall, said: "The ice surface, it looks like it's going to be smaller than NHL rink standard by probably 3 or 4 feet. I don't understand how that happened."

Leafs have really turned things around. Habs aren't lookin so good lately, did manage a SO win last time out. It's the old guard lettin Habs down it seems. Gallagher, 33, last year showed flashes of old Gally...had like 20 goals i think. But now it's all "he's done" "he's not an NHL player". Anderson...he remade himself as a PK guy, a physical guy. But I don't think he is holding up too well. Obviously, Monty.

It doesn't really matter to me so long as the kids develop. That is the fun thing about a rebuild. I think Slaf is coming into his own. Demedov is a star in the making. Suzuki and Caufield, still young, still getting better. Hudson. Dobson. Hopefully, Guhle is back soon. They signed Matheson. I'd give the start of the season a solid B.

And the Russian Kid, the Z guy. the 2nd round pick. Dude for sure would go top 15 now. He was 165 pounds when drafted. But he's 6'1''. 19 now. All-Star game bound in Russia.

Jacob Fowler been doing his .920 S% thing as usual in AHL. Reinbacher still there, still the top prospect. Just looking to keep him on the smaller ice here, get him used to it. He's a second pair right hand a long 6'3'' probably next year.

But first things first, let's buzz around @ Leafs tonight!!

I'm a bit of a hater so good to hear. After their idk 3 game? win streak where the scores were pretty lopsided in Leafs' favor, they went in my mind to "probably should tank" to "maybe they can put it together" what putting it together means...hmm idk I guess the ceiling would be... a lower-seed playoff team which means maybe win a round. Floor...lottery. I really have no idea how things will shake out in the East.
