nice interference by elias on girardi

probably a good veteran play in pierre's eyes though

Horrible period for NYR. The amount of defensive zone turnovers is inexcusable - sone definitely created by NJ pressure, but a lot can be attributed to plain lazy play.

rangers playing ****ing badly. wtf.

can't clear zone (so many turnovers...wtf), can't forecheck properly (aas they've done a billion times before) and boyle w/ a ******ed slash.

meanwhile, devils actually finding a way to somewhat mitigate rangers' shotblocking. really (literally A+) good job by kovalchuk to hooooold it, hooooold it, hoooooold it, SHOOT. and another devil's player (d on point) did the same thing to try to avoid the block. i think torts though is MUCH more worried about the lackluster performance in period 1 than the issue of playing game theory w/ shotblocking lol.

re: cwice...ty...note im not picking any arguments. im trying to come at PDO from a statistical perspective and really understand where it's good, where it's bad, and what it's limitations are. logically i love it. it really matches very well my qualitative experience w/ hockey. ty for helping walk me through it

meanwhile, CMON HENRIK!! (and jeez, rangers, get your **** together for ****'s sake)

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand torts goes changing the lines again. let's see wtf he did here throughout the period lol. he usually does really well w/ his choices though so i trust him.

LOL @ "stepan" getting that goal. i think staal shot that (not really 100% sure). he should get the goal.

uh...2 different teams came out of those locker rooms lol. wayyyyy better offensive zone. cally getting 2 turnovers and one shot off each.

and 2 posts for the rangers. yet another great one for krieder. PDO showing its stuff.

lol. precisely. how stepan remains credited w/ that is ... just... special. i guess he touched brodeur's pad, thus somehow magically putting the puck in net?
