There are exceptions to PDO, and that is where you find truly elite players and teams. There are a handful of goalies in the elite tier who can have an above average save % year in, year out. Lundqvist is able to consistently be above average. So can Thomas AND Rask. Luongo and Schneider also form a formidable pair.

The vast majority of goalies are average though. One year they might post a SV% of 930, the next year, 900.

The other portion of PDO is S%. That is much harder to be elite at, when looking at a team level. Going off memory I think that only Vancouver has been able to have an above average S% each and every year for the past 4 years.

PDO likes the Kings a lot. Why? Because it was low during the season. Now whether due to coaching or luck (likely a combination of the two) the Kings had an absolutely woeful S% this season. They finished the year 4th in Fenwick. If the bounces had been fair hey likely would have finished 4th overall.

The good thing about the Rangers losing is that we will get to see Torts-Brooks IV - The Ruckus At The Rock

Triumph - not sure if you were aware but each 1 game is 3 periods and it doesn't matter how many goals per period you score, but how many total goals you score in the duration of those 3 periods total

This exactly, when the Devs lost game 1, I wasn't terrible upset, because game 1 played just like the Flyers series. The Devils dominated and lost a very few battles and took the L. You could tell they would come out guns blazing in Game 2 and they did. They overpowered NY and played a much better game than the Rangs did in game 1.

Bold prediction: Devils go back to Ny up 3-1

I'd be pretty surprised if this doesn't go 7, even if the Devils continued to outplay 2 out of 3 periods, the Rangers D + Henrik will also keep them in games and allow them to win. Although Triumph might argue this should be a 4-2 series right now.
