Does Bettman make the Coyotes wash his car every weekend in addition to doing various chores around the house?

Hedberg finished the rest of that game against Pittsburgh with (what I remembered to be a broken wrist, but with) what TSN listed as a "fractured clavicle", just so the kid didn't have to go in and get shelled. Would have been pretty funny and memorable, seeing as how he had a 4.81 GAA and .866 SV% at the CIS level for UBC, in 36 games.

Also, I played minor hockey with that guy a couple years. True story.

It'd force them to move Kesler either to the 3rd line, or back to RW (which might not be so bad, but...).

Burrows has proved to be a great fit and has shown a lot of chemistry playing with either the Sedins or Kesler, and actually he could probably play with just about anyone. I think he still doesn't get enough credit for what he does on the ice, more talented than most think probably. Burrows for Jumbo would make this team more like Pittsburgh, with great centers playing with not-so-good wingers, especially if they have to dump $5m more in salary.

How many big money players can a team have anyway? Adding Jumbo would give the Canucks 5 players (3 of them centers) making about $5m/year or more (with 4 D-men at over $3m). Something would have to give...
Well, we lose Demo at $4m per so that and Burrows $2m would be close.

Wouldn't trade either Sedin, Loungo or Kes for Joe.

You could make an argument that Burr is more valuable because of his contract but if you get Jumbo for a year you might have a decent shot if Kesler can scare him into playing better when it counts.

Also, care to guess what he's going to get as a UFA if they don't win anything again this year or next?

I'd say he'd be lucky to get $5.5m.

The Caps are on steroids, ldo

And I can't believe the Oilers have the gall to not suspend their PPV programming this season. You really think it's fair and reasonable to put any games on PPV this year? Is anyone buying it? Way to piss all over your fans...

/in b4 someone drinking management Kool-Aid says the games wouldn't be broadcast otherwise (lol @ hockey in Canada not getting profitable TV ratings)

Yeah they could make it work, you'd still have to replace Demitra though (probably Grabner), it'd be an interesting problem to have anyway. Center comparison:

H. Sedin - Crosby
Thornton - Malkin
Kesler - J. Staal

Jumbo? He'll probably still get him $7+m regardless of what happens in the playoffs. He's too good, and there are so few elite centers out there. As long as he stays healthy he'll always be in demand, but I could see a point where San Jose might move him. But probably not for Burrows, lol, which sort of kills this hypothetical.

Well, with Thornton on our team, our centers would almost represent the Penguins. And our depth/wingers/goaltending/defense is far superior. Obviously we would have to go for broke this year and next but the lineup with really be smexy.

edit: I wasn't considering cap issues though. Too lazy to do the math but losing Demitra's 4 million, Burrow's 2 and probably Mitchell's 3.5 would help.

edit #2: lol, actually reading your (72off) entire post would have helped. Yep.

Pretty sure Voukoun would have at least let one goal get in there in the first. Clemmenson was excellent. Glad Clemmenson has started the last two games for the Panthers. (played in 3 in a row playing in relief of Voukoun.)

LOL Tebow:

Quote:
"Per a league source, after the person administering the (Wonderlic) test to Tebow's group had finished, Tebow made a request that the players bow their heads in prayer before taking the 50-question exam. Said one of the other players in response: "Shut the f--k up." Others players in the room then laughed.
