Hasn't really been himself since 2003 probably, and certainly since he left the Canucks he's been mostly awful (his last year or two here was bad too, really). He's done, really surprised that Holland/Babcock thought it was a good idea to bring him back.

* - unless you get lucky and it's one of the 5 games per year when he's feeling good/into it for some reason/mad/whatever
A negative player on Detroit playing top 6 minutes all year? You think Babcock and Holland are missing something that you know? I can't see your logic working here.

Do you watch him play? He's terrible. Turns it over a ton, is huge but won't hit anyone, doesn't play any defense, has a career low 8.7% shooting, and so on. If he wasn't insulated by playing with some very good players there (Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Lidstrom, etc) it'd be even more glaring how awful he is. Oh look, and he's a minus player again...

But like I said, no idea what Holland/Babcock see in him, unless they just talked themselves into the idea that he contribute more than his cap hit this year by playing in that top-6. There's a reason he's moved 6 times in the last 5 seasons.

Sidney looked frustrated all night. I guess taking it out on the guys that shut him down all night makes everything better. I like Sid, but gotta say I'm not really a fan of that stuff at the end. And why's Jimmy Howard stepping in there...... and then where's ****ing Fleury? Get down there and protect your player when their goalie starts **** (or try to protect anyway)

God-damn this team needs a kick in the ass. Where's all that leadership from guys like Guerin, Rupp, etc. they were supposed to embrace? Seems like ever since the Cooke hit the team's been lost out there.

Weird thing is I do agree (to some degree) with your points but the fact is he is playing top 6 on the best managed team in the league. Not 3rd line or 4th or minors or retired or whatever that the rest of you think.

He played 2 shifts in the last minute today and I can attest for the last 2 games against Vancouver and Edmonton he was a FORCE out there.
