Very, very true. Being in Buffalo as fans we were stunned at the fact that Briere, Drury essential ran out of town after the success they had here. They literally at the time let our 2 best players go and the thought of losing Vanek who at the time was in many fans eyes the soon to be greatest pure goal scorer in the league. Unfortunately if you dug a little deeper into his play you would see he never did anything involving the word check (back, fore) he was useless on the PK and on the PP he would do nothing but wait at the blue line for the puck to enter the zone.

He is clearly overpaid as we can all see based on production etc, but at the time it was the right play for the team, Regier, and in terms of keeping the strong fan base going. I think now looking back you have to say letting him go for the 4 1st rounders (sorry thought was 3 off top of head) knowing they would miss the playoffs for 2 yrs even with him was the right decision. They could have used that money to sign 2 decent players in replace of him plus still had the draft picks.

Of course letting go Drury and Briere forced them to overpay for guys like Pominville, Roy and Connolly also.

Bert plays lazy at the best of times but he is on your best line for a reason right? Also Bert has some of the best hands and feet for a big man EVER in the league. No one physically challenges him cuz they just can't match up with him.

Carry on with his effort critiques if you want any points.

I love how Fleury makes the most ridiculous saves and can't stop a 40 foot wrister with no screen.

These lines suck though. Poni and Guerin are terrible fits with Staal. Fedotenko sucks in general. Losing Malkin forces us to use the random lines and they never seem to click.

Wow Staal just broke Datsyuk's stick right off that faceoff in the Pens end. This could easily have been a 5-on-3 for 2 mins.

hes not on the best line, hes on the 2nd line

thornton, heatley, getzlaf, malkin, kovy, lecavalier these guys have the best hand for this size and I am sure I mist some good ones that are big for sure.

and nearly no one challenges him, since there is no real "reason" his for/back chack could be way more physical but these things can very well be just about that he doesn't really care anymore.

Mostly directed at T, but any fan of the show feel free to chime in...

Finally been going through the last 2 seasons of Sopranos (long story, have S1 & S2, had to borrow the rest, took forever to get and watch the last 2), just watched the one with the extended dream sequence towards the end of S5. How many times do I need to watch it and/or how much of bons' stash to I need to ingest in order to understand all the symbolism/subtext going on it that? I feel like I was watching what I expect Twin Peaks is like (haven't really seen it).

Yeah Bertuzzi is mostly a negative player. He can make the odd good play every now and then, but more often than not he's hurting you out there*. Hasn't really been himself since 2003 probably, and certainly since he left the Canucks he's been mostly awful (his last year or two here was bad too, really). He's done, really surprised that Holland/Babcock thought it was a good idea to bring him back.

* - unless you get lucky and it's one of the 5 games per year when he's feeling good/into it for some reason/mad/whatever
