People keep citing these Bengals coaches. Well guess what they were on the field, yuuup but they weren't on the field engaging with Pittsburgh players in a taunting cursive manner. How some can't see the complete difference is baffling.

This and where was leadership?

Why was hill pushing so hard the last fumble? McCarron calls the play, he must have forgot to remind everyone they just need to kill the clock and kick three.

By far, the absolute worst professional sports event I've ever seen on television.

This wasn't just a rival game, or bad blood, this was the accumulation of bad reffing all season long, and poor understanding of rules.

Baseball actually ejects people who can't control themselves.

My dad is (was?) a Bengals fan and thinks that this team is despicable, the fans are something to be ashamed of, and the ownership is inexcusable. He told me he is packing up all his Bengals **** and putting it in a box in the garage and rooting for the Browns, Steelers, and Ravens until Marvin Lewis is fired.

He also had these other really HOT takes:

1. The Steelers at least have a classy organization so that's why he can root for them.

2. Joey Porter was smart for coming on the field and cussing out Pac Man because he knew Pac Man is stupid enough to get a penalty. Joey Porter also knows something about dirty plays and being an idiot from his playing days and he came out on the field because he knew how much damage a headhunting linebacker could do.

3. Burfict is a dirty player who they gave a second chance coming out of college when everyone already knew he was dirty. Said the troubling thing is that he is really good and signed for 3 more years and lots of money, but the coaches and owner should apologize to the league and other owners for his shameful repeated behavior. Repeated that Mike Brown should go to the owners meeting and stand up like a man and apologize for the actions of his team.

4a. Marvin Lewis has LOST THE LOCKER ROOM.
4b. Marvin Lewis never gets mad. He just sits there expressionless as players commit stupid personal fouls game after game while never trying to correct them or benching the offenders.
4c. Marvin Lewis always just says that they "have to do a little better" in press conferences, but doesn't do anything to improve.
4d. No other team in the league cares about winning so little that they won't fire someone who is 0-7 in the playoffs.
4e. Its better to miss the playoffs than to lose in the first round every year.

5. Pac Man is an idiot, but now that he's a FA he can be someone else's idiot.

6. At least the Browns care about winning which is why they fire their coaches who suck even though they should give them a little longer leash.

7. The reffing was good and fair. The rules about helmet to helmet and stuff are stupid, but they were enforced as they were written. The Gio hit was clean.

He also has agreed with me that Gio is infinitely better than Hill and that alone should be enough to get Marvin fired even if the other stuff wasn't there. No clue why he thinks its ok to root for the Ravens or why he thinks the Steelers have an upstanding organization.

Porter should have been flagged for being on the field.

And the hit was illegal.

Even worse, the expert consulted by CBS didn't even know the proper rule, which was changed in 2013.

This isn't to say that the Bengals deserved to win. Both teams were an embarassment to football, as were the referees.

But, sadly, that's what football is now, a game that is too complicated to play or officiate.

Porter being on the field being illegal doesn't mean it can't also be a smart play. That draws a flag a lot less often than someone getting riled up and throwing a punch or making some other dumb decision.

you realize it clearly states it should have been a penalty in that article?

The all 22 film showed there was like 11 coaches on the field from both teams and Pereria said the flag on Jones for contact with the ref is very obvious on the non broadcast film.

LOL Pacman forever and always

Quote:
"Nah, Antonio Brown was not hurt," Jones said. "I know he was faking it. Go back and look at the play. If you go back in slow motion, you tell me Vontaze hit him in the head, or if his shoulder pads barely touched him."

A bunch of dudes on chiefsplanet with no dog in the fight thought Brown might have flopped too. If you go back and look at the hit, he flops around like an absolute rag doll. Which would suggest he's either completely out cold or acting. It seems unlikely to be in-between, or his body would have been a little tighter.

So if anyone has extended footage - what did he do for 30 seconds or so after the hit? If he's moving he might have actually flopped. AB is a very smart dude.

Still a penalty either way of course. Burfict loaded up and took like 3 full strides. What a dumbass in that spot.

Have a tough time believe that was a flop. You just don't go limp like that if you're faking I would imagine.

If you watch it a bunch of times you can imagine he's deliberately flailing his arms a bit. It seems like usually when people truly get knocked out there's much less flailing and they just drop like a sack of potatoes.

True. However, a few years back someone posted a video of a soccer player that got knocked out cold, but was still "running" while on the ground. It was really creepy.

It's actually kinda dumb to fake an injury in that spot. If there was no flag it would have cost the Steelers a TO (I can't remember if they had one. I think not) or there would have been a 10 second runoff.

Every offensive player should know that and taking a chance of faking without knowing for sure that a flag will be thrown is pretty stupid.

It wouldn't cost a TO because the clock was stopped. Also the Steelers chances were pretty bad there. If flopping had a chance it would be worth the risk. Not that AB would have had time to process all that.
