Hate the Bungles but I do agree the 2nd penalty seemed pretty ticky-tak, when Porter was on the field talking **** to Burfict.

The Bernard play isn't going to get flagged. People get hit in the helmet all the time on the run, often with defenders leading with their helmet and refs rarely, if ever, call it.

The interesting thing is how the ruled it on the field. They said he didn't catch it, so he wasn't a runner, and could've easily been flagged for being a "defenseless receiver" even though he actually did catch it. I mean the refs ****ed up so badly on that play just all around.

What would actually happen if they called that a penalty and then Tomlin was like "**** it, he actually caught the ball." Can they rescind the penalty?

Penalties need to be reviewable. How many more high leverage situations do we need to have happen?

As for Porter being on the field: Obviously he shouldn't be, and I'm sure the NFL will tighten that up, but players talk **** all the time. If you can't control yourself to not push someone after the play, you deserve all the flags.

The lingering takeaway about this game, for me, is that I do not know what to do when an entire thread devolves into references to "animals," "thugs," and other completely transparent casual racism. I want to particularly note this post, which was probably, without doing any serious review, the worst one:

I mean, come on. First of all, this is SURROUNDED by other posts about "thugs," a term which is obviously a coded reference whether the user means it to be or not (which are two different questions). Second of all, the "animal thugs" thing just removes all doubt about what is happening in this post. This is racism. We cannot have this.
