'Absolutely' is way too strong of a word. I think my post implies that I am skeptical of clutchness and want to see further proof of it before I accept that luck/variance doesn't entirely create our perceptions of clutchness for us. Can anyone explain why a QB would be clutch in the playoffs but not able to play just as well in the regular season?


I also think its possible that an athlete would run good/bad in clutch situations at the beginning of his career and the resulting confidence boost/diminished confidence would actually affect him and make him clutch/unclutch in future situations.

PFF Mid Season All-Pro Team

Interesting how some of PFF's unsung All-Pros line up with some of Bill Barnwell's mentions on Grantland. Eric Winston at T, Andy Levitre at G, Kam Chancellor at S for example.

And by "interesting" I mean it's cool to see these players getting recognition from more than one place. Probably won't translate into Pro Bowl votes or AP All-Pro selections but you never know.

I've actually been hearing great things about Chancellor for the past couple weeks. These are just on various forums / sites like PFF and FO and what not so you're probably right that it won't translate. Hopefully it does for their sake, but seems unlikely.
