How bout Cp3 for 2nd team all-d? hmmmm...his counter-part stats aren't that great.
03-16-2011 , 11:58 AM
don't turn into bobbo, counterpart stats isn't close to everything there is to defense

I tend to think that bigger PGs like Rose probably have the most defensive value of PGs. The smaller, quicker guys still get beat routinely because of the nature of the position. Bigger, stronger guys won't lose much there but they won't get abused down low and they give you more flexibility wrt matchups.

I'd prob go with Conley, since a decent part of MEM's defensive success is their guards/wings being ultra aggressive on the ball and in the passing lanes.

Paul is prob fine for similar reasons.

The wings are the most impressive to me. Just a lot of guys playing solid D at the 2 and 3 these days.

i mean rose is a unique example because hes both big and quick but most 6'3-6'5 pg's will get beat off the dribble way too often

Playoffs, get here sooner please. Thanks.

How does LBJ not make it? Kid plays defense on elite PGs in the meaningful parts of games and he has D-Wade on his team. He's probably pretty good. chum on

Anywho, even if it is .3, you can't catch and shoot with .3 when you're 35 feet from the hoop, it's just not physically possible.

A lob to the rim is pretty much your only option. Pretty douchy of him to get that ****ty with Jeffries about it when it happened and still be ****ty in the post game interview.
I was about five feet away from from Melo/Jeffries when this was going on. I really wanted Jeffries to just turn and say 'Remember when I tried to fight you and you ran away?'

Grant Hill has an editorial in the NYT this Sunday responding to the Fab 5 doc.

spaced out on Lebron?

I know some of you are wayy better than this.

LOl I love it. lots of people are going "bold" saying SA wont get out of the first round. really? They are better than DAL, OKC, MEM, POR and everyone lese besides LA

people think picking OKC > SA should they meet is the correct pick. how is it? sure both teams like to run. but SA rebounds better and plays better D. perk will help SA but will that improvement catapult them past SA? the answer is No

ITT Jetto calls out other posters for making obvious statements.

Jetto I'm more hopeful OKC beats SAS than anything

I'm loling at how this is all dantonis fault. Let's see, you have two of the worst defenders in the game and you can't stop crap offenses, blame the coach!

Its funny how george karl, a defensive coach, suddenly got a lot better after melo left.

I've always been pretty bullish on CP's D. I've heard far less gambler talk lately and he still leads the league in steals, which, even if he does still gamble, at least he has something to show for it. Eye test and all blah blah blah, but he's seemed pretty good this year.
03-16-2011 , 01:36 PM
Artest is old, he's no longer a very good defender. Not sure if he's even good anymore
03-16-2011 , 01:36 PM
Artest has been crushing
03-16-2011 , 01:39 PM
Fun stat of the day:

My preferred lineup at the start of the year of CP/Buckets/Ariza/West/Okafor was +39 in the 78 (lol) minutes they had together.

The next best lineup, and the one they should be rolling with now, of CP/Belinelli/Ariza/West/Okafor is +38 in 805 minutes.
03-16-2011 , 01:39 PM
If there was a way to bet on it I'd bet there's at least 10 wings with >30mpg who are better defenders than him. And I'm not just hating, I love Artest.
03-16-2011 , 01:40 PM
Artest has a -2.9 PER against at SF, confirmed worthless
03-16-2011 , 01:41 PM
ya I'm not arguing against that (thayer) but Artest was god awful to start the season and has been playing very well since the break
