Brady should really do some heavy shrugs, might be able to get the ball there next time

Jesus, if this was a second quarter call, no f'ing way ANYONE says one word about it. Even the most hateful pats hater would agree it was PI.

The first ref threw the flag and rightfully so because Gronk was interfered with. The flag was correctly picked up because Gronk would never have had a chance to catch the ball as the defender intercepted it before he could have possibly got to it. Refs did everything right on the last play
This is all correct.

Interference happened PRIOR to the pick. This at least is fact

No one disputes that interference is the right call if the ball is catchable, but a catchable ball is necessary for an interference flag and this pass was never catchable.

No one is debating whether there was interference or when it happened. Luckily that doesn't matter because a guy five yards upfield easily intercepted a poorly under thrown ball that the receiver never had a shot at

I think it should have just been a no-call in the first place, pretty similar to the plays in the NFCCG and Super bowl. Throwing the flag and then picking it up is way worse than just not throwing it.

lol now Gronk was "Probably going to beat the defender to the ball" if he wasn't being held

So then it's holding.
11-19-2013 , 01:11 AM
Cam would never under throw a pass in that spot... or most any other spot.

Thread has it all. Butthurt Pats fans, blind homer Panther fans and Pats haters as well as Ashton Kutcher defenders. Amazing

It's a valid thing to discuss obviously, but Baghdad Mike's opinion counts about as much as a gimmick with a Nov 2013 reg date posting here.

Ball is in the air. Holding cannot be called. It is either interference or not... and since ball isn't catchable it can't be interference either.

So there's no chance he makes contact with the DB while ball comes in and something different happens? Also the interference started occurring at most 1 yard behind where interception was made, not 4.

Sure but that's asking a lot of an official who was in a good position to see the contact but a poor position to evaluate the catchability.
