Who are we?

Matt “Matt238” Vance, Jeff "Yellowsub86" Williams, and Nick "ahh_snap" Van NewKirk form the leadership of Team Fold to 2nd. Our backing group is well established, having been staking players for 3 years. Each TFT2nd owner has years of experience in both live and online play at the highest levels. We provide strategy and coaching from our years of experience as both professional players and backers.

Our stable is a group of successful grinders with tons of camaraderie. We have very active group chats to help each other improve as players. We are a strong community of players with common goals.

What do we offer?

$$$ Most importantly, we provide you the money to play at the stakes you need to play at to earn a healthy living. Currently we allow players to play tournaments up to 215 buyins including the Sunday Majors. With exceptions considered during special tournament series.
Before you begin playing for us a personalized schedule will be discussed with you. Not everyone will be playing or begin at the same games/stakes but we provide opportunities to move up in buyins as a staker/stakee relationship is established and as you improve as a player.

Coaching! We are readily available to answer any and all questions, provide feedback on hand histories, or any strategy questions a horse wants to discuss. As a group, we also run coaching sessions on a regular basis. An invaluable resource to help make you more money.

As a staking group, we offer our players lots of other advantages including:

- Donkbluff, a website that tracks all of your staking information- Current makeup, fills, bankroll balances, profit chops.

Hey guys. My name is Danny Noseworthy I play under SN DannyN13 stars/ftp. I have been playing for this stable since October. You will never, I repeat NEVER find a better group of guys to play for. Matt runs a tight ship with a super comfortable atmosphere, while Jeff and Nick are there to give you a kick in the ass when you are playing bad j/k. No but seriously, free coaching from these guys alone is worth applying to the stable. Great bunch of people I can't speak highly enough. I have never had an issue of any sort that we couldn't come to a fair agreement upon. Fills are readily available and you can always get in touch with someone almost instantly. The horses in the stable are awesome guys that will help you out in any way they can as well. Not to mention the heater the stable is on and won't be stopped. Immediate cashouts, free coaching, great communication, no long term contracts, and a bunch of clowns shooting the **** in the group chat. What more do you want? #teamfoldto2nd

I came in with loads of work ethic and fight but zero discipline. I had good poker skills and a lot of experience/games played but felt like I was missing things. Since joining the group a little over a year ago I have gained a wealth of knowledge and confidence in my abilities. Further, I finally feel like I'm moving in a overall positive direction and I would be lying if I didnt attribute most of my progress to this group. And it comes from many sources within the group. Everyone wants to learn and improve which makes for a very constructive atmosphere. The amount of time, effort and consideration Matt, Jeff and Nick put into the stable and improving the players I seriously doubt there is another backing entity that rivals in comparison.

This is definitely one of the best group of players and people that I have met in my journeys. I have found them to be nothing but fair and helpful in every way possible. I can't think of a single thing I wish they did better/differently. Legends in my book.

Hey everyone, I'm SSSMforlife (SSSMBRFC2/C on stars) and I'd like to reiterate some of Danny's, PLO's and Ginger's points about the stable as well as make a few of my own. I've been a horse with the group since Nov 2011 and my relationship with every aspect of the stable has been nothing but positive. First of all, Matt, Jeff and Nick are all great guys! The same can be said for all the horses. It's a very friendly (yet still professional) atmosphere that is always super-welcoming to newcomers. If you're not an a-hole, you'll fit right in!
As others have mentioned, from a business standpoint, Matt manages a tight ship. In over the 1.5 years I've been part of the stable, I don't think receiving a fill has ever been an issue to the point where it affected my playing schedule. If no one is around for a fill right away, Matt will always go the extra mile to make sure it happens promptly. He also makes himself available throughout the day to answer any questions, give advice on hands posted in the group chat and of course sweat all your deep runs!
The group coaching sessions are always useful. Jeff analyzes the game at a high level and is very good at communicating directly and asking you the right questions to improve your game street-by-street. However, during these sessions, feedback and participation from everyone is always encouraged. There's a lot of exceptional players in the stable and a lot of value in exploring lines/spots as a group.
There is no doubt in my mind that being a part of this group has accelerated my growth as a poker player substantially. This goes beyond just the decisions made at the tables. I think most, if not all of the horses would agree with that. Quite frankly, the stable has been crushing this year and it's no coincidence. If you are serious about poker, want to be treated fairly and want to win, I'd highly recommend applying!

I've been playing for Team Foldto2nd since September 2011. In that time, I've gone from a broke $2/180 player with a limited amount of MTT success under his belt, to a professional MTT grinder ranked number 113 worldwide on PocketFives. Team Foldto2nd has given me the tools I needed to not only improve my game on the table, but also develop my behaviours off the table - including skills such as the mental game, game selection and work ethic - in order to become a successful professional poker player.

In my time with the group I've shared our chat window with people from all different parts of the world, who play games from the 3r/180s up to major MTTs, SCOOPs and WCOOPs, and I honestly believe that every single player who's put effort into being an active part in the team has been rewarded tenfold. Our chat window is always buzzing during big sweats and on Sundays, and there are hands posted on a regular basis to provide a constant learning environment.

The Team Foldto2nd leadership is the most professional you could possibly expect from a backing group. I can't remember the last time Matt took a day off from being there to make sure everyone's got the funds they need, offer support and encouragement during big sweats, and provide instant feedback on hands. Jeff usually takes the lead on our regular group coaching sessions, and his coaching has without doubt changed the way I approach MTTs, not to mention made me a far better player and improved my results massively. I've also had the privilege of Nick's input on several occasions, who as a heads-up and cash game specialist, has acted mostly as a coach and HH reviewer for heads-up matches in MTTs and deep stacked situations. All three are outstanding poker players with long records of success in their particular games.

As a staked player, you want a balance between someone who'll manage you, but also give you freedom to play the way you play; who'll understand what it's like to be in a big downswing, or to not be playing your best. You want someone who'll push you to achieve more, while avoiding results orientation. Above all, you want a group of guys who will make the process of getting better at poker and succeeding at poker an enjoyable one, and that's what I've always gotten from Team Foldto2nd. If you're an MTT player and this isn't the first place you apply for backing, you're making a mistake.
