~even striking but DC spent so much time controlled up against the cage. Kind of easy round to score i imagine.

I thought that was a clear Stipe win, don't get how you could have had DC as a winner

I agree dar0. Round 2,3,5 was very clear for Stipe. Round 1 and 4 was close, but im leaning DC. Could definitely see judges give either of those to Stipe while it would be impossible to give DC 2,3,5.

Had a bet on DC, but let's be real. That eyepoke was disgusting though.

Yeah eye poke definitely screwed up the fight, obv ironic since it was DC with the eye pokes in the last fight. Props to DC for not making excuses

He got saved by the bell 2nd rd, I wanted to see Stipe get him outta there

I think he is retired, if he won I don't think he would've been though

The eye poke was the pretty bad but DC won the very next round and went 1-2 in rounds after the eye poke. Dana also pointed out that eye had a lot of damage before it was even poked. Stipe was also poked in already damaged eyes.

The eye poke was so bad it definitely had an effect on the fight but if you take those rounds out of the fight Stipe still winds soundly.

Biggest take away is to fix the ****ing gloves. You have two of your biggest stars in one of the biggest historical matchups and their both risking their eyes?

Looks like Jones is vacating and its gonna be Reyes vs Jan for the vacant belt. Jones tweeted out earlier about how he is vacating and if the UFC ever want to pay him what hes worth he will return to fight at HW then a couple hours later tweeted out that he had positive conversations with the UFC and the weight gaining process is beginning.

Yeah, I figured he was finally going to be moving to HW.

It really didn't make sense for him to do so before, Stipe's name value has increased wth the Ngannou win and the 2 DC wins. People just didn't care about him and Jones wouldn't have gotten the credit for beating him before that.

Israel Adesanya ready to fight Jon Jones in the heavyweight division https://www.mmafighting.com/2020/8/1...to-heavyweight
People, what you think about this?

Israel better focus on his matchup with Costa rather than talking about potential hw matchups, especially when he's small enough to make 170.

Bader lost LHW title in Bellator last night

Pretty brutal way to go...

Frankie moved down to 135 and somehow still looks like the smaller and less powerful man, wtf. The fact that he won the 155lb title says a lot, time to retire.

I was watching NBA so didn't catch the whole fight but I thought Munhoz clearly won the parts that I did watch and I checked MMAdecisions press row scores after and most had it for him. Seems like a questionable decision, guess Edgar will get a pretty good opponent for his next fight given a win over Munhoz is legit.

Maybe do him/Sandhagen

I bet on Frankie and felt after the fight that maybe if things went my way he could sneak a 48-47 win and I was definitely biased in that opinion but was expecting a Munhoz win.

I like the idea of a Frankie vs Cruz fight but Frankie is probably looking for someone higher up in the rankings so you might be right with Sandhagen.

Sterling is likely fighting Yan for the belt. Frankie should probably Fight Cruz.

yeah Frankie/Cruz is a good idea if Cruz wants to

kinda feels like Cruz is retired if he can't get near the belt anymore tho

I think Costa is going to smash Adesanya and I doubt Costa will gas if he is able to keep his emotions in check. That being said, these are 2 great fighters and I'm extremely interested in this fight.

In terms of Adesanya moving up, Jon Jones should be able to ragdoll him easily. On paper it shouldn't be all that competitive but I suppose Jones could choose to stand with him like he did with Thiago Santos, in which case I'd favor Adesanya. That strategy would make no sense whatsoever though.

Last nights card was actually pretty fun. Some entertaining fights. Had one of the worst ref calls ive ever seen though. Herman went down with some pretty clear knees to his body and ref stepped in and called it a low blow letting him recover and he eventually went on to win.

Next weeks card is sneaky good. Alot of interesting fighters although the main event of woodley vs colby is like 2 years too late.

Michael Chandler has signed with the UFC and will act as a back-up fighter for the Khabib-Gaethje fight at UFC 254.
