Yeah that's why we've had so many ufc events in russia.

Dunno if I read it here or somewhere else but supposedly Khabib isn't even that popular in Russian anyway due to his religion?

Anderson Silva wants to fight Conor and he's willing to cut a few pounds to do it.

Ffs he'll need to cut a leg off.

No reason for Conor to do that. He wouldn't get nearly the credit he would deserve for beating Anderson at this point in their careers obviously.

Would like to see Julianna get the W tomorrow night. We already saw Nunes/Shevchenko and I think Julianna's cardio/pace could give Nunes problems.

McGregor wasn't a big draw not so long ago. Khabib is a beast. It's all marketing. Look how huge the McGregor Diaz match was and Diaz is not exactly some huge draw either. If he wins the interim title in dominant fashion then the match vs McGregor will be absolutely massive. It just needs to be marketed. That's all this **** is. McGregor draws no matter what anyway let's face it. Not hard to sell him vs an undefeated Russian Muslim who has **** talked him for a while now who is an absolutely terrifying beast of a human being.

Fedor-Brock co-main?

yeah if there's one country where Brock could pass the test it's Russia, he'd have to throw the fight too

The Conor McGregor Q&A PPV is going on right now at the same time as the UFC on FOX 23 event in Denver.

Conor keeps saying that the Floyd Mayweather fight is the one he wants next.
The MMA Thread Quote
01-28-2017 , 08:47 PM
Yeah, he said he's willing to sit the whole 2017 out, the only fight he wants is Mayweather and he feels is getting closer and closer, maybe as soon as the end of 2017.
The MMA Thread Quote

I just don't get why he is trying to hype up a fight that will never happen. This won't help sell PPVs vs Khabib to be banging on about Floyd.

Conor just has to do the math, if he makes more vs FM than he would if he fought 2-3 times in 2017 its worth it for him. Problem is the fight isn't an easy sure fire fight to make. If he fights FM in Dec of 2017, he probably won't fight a UFC fight for another 6 months or so after that. Eh, 1 1/2 year layoff when a fighter is healthy the whole time?

Its pretty much his only leverage in negotiations with UFC. When they come to the table to make a fight then conor can just remind them that Dana said Conor would be the A side in a fight vs Floyd and offered to pay him $25m for the fight.

Here is some of the CM stuff.

Wow it doesn't sound like he'll be fighting a UFC fight anytime soon.

Guess those two divisions having interim fights ain't so bad now.

Dana White was pissed last night, saying Conor will have an "epic fall" if he wants to go this route, against the UFC. He also said the Mayweather fight will never happen.

There is the full CM interview. Apparently this was $5 to watch on PPV, lol.

I saw the Dana presser too, he seemed pissed but I think a big reason for that is because the person who asked him about CM took what he said out of context a little bit. He was basically popping off at everyone and being a showman, not really hostile towards UFC.

That being said, not sure how CM takes the Dana slight. He did kinda threaten him.

CM mentioned something called the Ali act when Ariel asked him if he can make the fight w/o UFC, what exactly is that?

I'm sure Dana is also annoyed that Conor did this H2H against a UFC event.

In May 2016, a bill was introduced to Congress by Markwayne Mullin, a politician and former MMA fighter, to extend the Ali Act to mixed martial arts.[5]

Ok now we know why Dana endorsed Trump. That bill is getting vetoed.

here is Dana

Dana really looked pissed when he found out about that stuff. Wonder what his threat would entail?

I mean sure Dana could kick Conor out of the UFC but if Conor can get his fight with Floyd he'd still make big money so it wouldn't matter.

Obviously the thing he could do would be to not cooperate at all with the Floyd stuff and just keep Connor under contract. If he won't fight then strip him of belts and basically make it impossible for him to do anything with Floyd.

Ali Act might kick in for a boxing fight... they might not be able to **** him like that.. ( although they'd obviously try - they did it to randy ).

Randy wanted to fight Fedor without them right? Then some time just lapsed and he got back in there with Brock and that was the end of it.

That is a little different since it is the same sport though.

McGregor sounded confident that he could get it done without them. He would definitely need to lawyer the **** up though. UFC ain't going down without a fight on that 1.
