Speaking of legends...

"I'm proud to announce we've signed a deal for the fight between Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz," De La Hoya said in a statement to ESPN. "This will be huge for sports fans around the world. Ortiz and Liddell are two of the most recognized fighters in MMA history. They are legends in the sport.

I hope somebody doesn't die is all, both men nearing 50.

I don't see how they put that on PPV. No one would buy that.

Would do like 60k buys

I definitely think Chuck needs the $ but Tito probably just wants to smash him and figures it is a good opportunity to make some easy $.

It'll draw more than all but a few UFC PPV's this year and maybe even all of them that are not conor mcgregor. Fights are about selling names, and chuck is still a way bigger name among people that actually watch and especially pay for fights than all but a few UFC guys today.

God this is awful though.

Don't see that at all. He's been out of the limelight for like close to 10 years.

Guess it depends what else is on the card but I doubt it does more than 100-150k buys at most.

What a kick in the balls. Easily the fight I was most looking forward to this year.

No wonder they try stack cards b/c it seems something always happens. Disappointing but hopefully they can reschedule soon.

I was loaded up on Max at -150, damn

sucks...Wonder who steps in and fights Ortega.

What was he having concussion symptoms from? He hasn't fought in awhile.

Another let down, things like this is why the sport can't progress, the April card was a huge let down with all the fallouts & now this happens. I feel bad for Max though, he was looking terrible all week, i'm not sure if it's the weight cut or if he took some nasty shots in sparring, either way he needs some time off to recover & maybe come back on the end of the year card or even next year.

Some guys go real hard in sparring, it's either that or his weight cut is too difficult, his team need to figure it out.

If Halloway cares about his well-being and quality of life, he should never fight again. That is some scary ****.

That's one way of looking at it but the man only knows fighting, is at the top of his profession at it & is only 26, i don't see him ending his career. Cody Garbrandt suffered from vertigo in his early 20's & had to take a break from competing, after awhile these type of symptoms go away & you get better. I just hope he takes atleast 6months off, everyone was saying he either looked tired or high during fight week, that's not generally what we see from fighters having a bad weight cut, he needs a long break.

DC tripped on a chord at the end of the press conference, oh lord, i hope he's not injured like Ferguson.

That was really strange. Looked like he was standing still when he went down.

He looked ok at the photo faceoff a little later.

He tripped over a speaker is what they're reporting, they say he's fine.

I guess Ortega turned down Jeremy Stephens on short notice.

Don't blame him really. Not his fault Max is a pullout artist.

Yep. Tito has fought 4 times in last 3 years against decent (ok, semi-decent) competition and won 3 of 4. Chuck hasn't fought in 8 years, lost 5 of his last 6 getting KO'd in 4 of those including the last 3 in a row. Not many people I would pick Tito to KO but right now it would be a goddam miracle if Chuck doesn't get starched by him. Good game selection by Tito.
